Before you know it you'll have 10 Ricky Bobbys running around the court

I'll never understand NASCAR. Formula One or Rallies or anything with a variable course, sure, but just driving in a circle?

I agree, can never get into that. I remember one of my ex GF's, her grandparents were really into it and constantly went to the states to watch races. I never understood it and still don't.

If the players reject the shirt then you can throw the ads out the window.

If its just the small shoulder patch then it's ok. This means our new jersey will probably have some OVO advertising on it.

The players won't because they don't give a rats ass.
They collectively should've rejected the sleeved jerseys but they didn't even have the backbone to do that. Silver even said over the weekend how big of a success they have been so the sleeves will be here to stay.........

Commissioner Adam Silver says NBA jerseys to have sponsor logos in near future - ESPN

Once this happens I'm done watching the NBA.

Nope. I will probably stop watching the NBA before then anyway, as I really hate how watered down the league has become. I miss the way the game was played back in the 80's, 90's and even the first few years of the 2000's. I'm watching the product for now until the last few old-time players that I enjoy watching finally retire.

My list only consists of 7 names:

Tim Duncan
Kevin Garnett
Paul Pierce
Ray Allen
Vince Carter
Dirk Nowitzki
Jermaine O'Neal

I'm guessing all these guys will be retired in about 3yrs or less, so I will be gone before the stupid ads come into play.

With the amount of advertising we're bombarded with, every day, and even during games, I'm surprised there's such an uproar over this.

Frankly, I could care less and would prefer seeing zero ads anywhere in the arena, but I know that's likely not to happen.

yeah - personally I find all the flashing graphics that reflect off the floor much more annoying than a little patch on a jersey.

Ahhhh, it's bullshit to me. Anyone that gives up on the league because of that was likely not a huge fan to begin with or had already lost interest. Take a look at the arena's, hell our basket's say State Farm on them and used to have a big Snickers logo on them. We have an arena in the NBA named after a Smoothie King company. It's everywhere, a couple patches on a jersey's which helps the league revenue is fine imo at this point. It's not going to change.

National teams have adds, Eurolegue teams too. I don't really notice them anymore, as long as they are kept to minimum.

It's one thing to look at players wearing advertisements on their jerseys.
It's another thing to buy a Ross jersey and instantly becoming an advertising pillar for Primo Pasta.

Because that's what's going to happen... And that's not okay.

What also matters is exactly who's advertisement it is and how prominent it is on the jersey, but that's also something we the fans don't get to decide.

But don't get me wrong I won't stop watching games because of some stupid patches.
