Default Shaq on Pat Riley and the Miami Heat

Tell us what you really think Shaq.

Quote:
While the Big Cactus said he enjoys being with Steve Nash, coach Mark D’Antoni and the rest of his Phoenix pals, his reaction to his former Miami Heat teammates was a little more cold:

“I love playing for this coach and I love playing with these guys,” said O’Neal yesterday. “We have professionals who know what to do. No one is asking me to play with Chris Quinn or Ricky Davis. I’m actually on a team again.”

The same Chris Quinn who scored a career-high 24 points in Miami’s Monday win over the Bucks?

Shaq also had something to say about Pat Riley and the way he’s been running the Heat:

“I guess when you have a lot of power, you can do what you want. Me? If I ever came into that kind of power, I think I’d be willing to admit it if I messed up.”

But it wasn’t just Heat players Shaq had a go at. He also had some backhanded comments for some former Celtics when talking about this evening’s matchup:

“I’m looking forward to [tonight]. I’ve never played them when they were Boston Boston. Back when they had those teams with Rick Fox and ‘Nique [Dominique Wilkins], they were only Sort Of Boston. Now it’s Boston Boston.”

i guess in baseball its Manny being Manny, but in basketball its Shaq being Shaq... he always seems to disrespect former players and coaches he had success with in the past, be it Penny in Orlando, Phil and Kobe in LA and now Pat and Ricky Davis in Miami... poor Quinn tho haha kid isnt much to talk about now u got Shaq dissing ya.. not a classy move, but typical diesel.

Bloody bully to pick on little Chris Quinn. If he disses Steve once he leaves Phoenix, I will kick his behind.

cuz walton comes across like a bumbling living in the past stooge to alot of ppl i think is the main reason. Also what he said about Shaq was pure hypocritical since when he went to Boston ppl said he was done, he was too old, his knees were gone, he had no gas in the tank etc etc, but they won it all, and its obvious if you have been watching Shaq since he got to PHX, he has alot left in the tank aswell.

My point was if anyone calls Shaq out he whines - not just Walton and he's free to trash anyone whenever he feels like.

Also, Walton wasn't fat, bloated and out of shape ever year and coasting until he felt like playing. The man just could not avoid getting injured and actually he had foot and ankle problems, not knee problems.
