Default shaq calls for the stars to dunk for haiti

Quote:
CLEVELAND -- Shaquille O'Neal has a plan to save the NBA's All-Star dunk contest: Bring back the superstars and do it for devastated Haiti.

Following Tuesday night's win over Toronto, O'Neal was asked if he would like to see teammate LeBron James participate in this year's event. That's when he offered his idea. He would like to see former dunk champion Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant and others take part along with James.

"As his manager, I will only allow 'Bron to do the dunk contest if Vince Carter comes back out," O'Neal said. "If Kobe comes back out and if another big name comes back out. If we could get a big prize and have half of the money go to the people of Haiti and the other half to the winner.
Quote:
"I'm saying it now," O'Neal said. "So tweet it. Facebook it. E-mail it and hopefully it gets out. Vince, we're calling you out. Kobe, we're calling you out. We're calling everybody out. If those guys step up in the dunk contest, then I will allow my client to step up."

Wow, that would be pretty amazing!

And less pressure as it's for a good cause.

I like the idea but from a dunking stand point there are a lot of better dunkers then Kobe and Vince now.

LOL Someone asked Vince in the other video. He still does dunkoffs with Dwight.

There's no doubt in my mind that Vince would still destroy anyone :P. His dunks are flawless and clean.

It's called that because they can't get the real stars out for the show.

This would be epic. In a perfect world, they'd get Josh Smith, J-Rich, or D-Wade to compete, too.

I would pay atleast 20 dollars to see Wade vs. Lebron vs. Kobe vs. Carter in a dunk contest.

I'd like to see Bron, Wade, Iguodala, and G. Wallace.

Iguodala is definitely a nice pick. I forgot about him. He has orignality to match his hops.

I'm a little skeptical about how well Wallace will do. Wallace is more of a game dunker. That is, he looks awesome dunking in a crowd and over players. I'm not sure if you remember, but G. Wallace has already participated in the dunk contest. Back when he was riding the pine for Sacramento's beast of a team, Wallace got a shot at the contest. His performance was...meh...so-so *rotates hand* I'd be happy to see Wallace prove me wrong, though, since I like him as a player. I respect how hard he plays.

If its called rising stars to have young players only dunking then why is GWall in this years?

Having the dunk off with the superstars of the league would be huge in bringing in a bunch of fans and viewership for the event. Allstar saturday night would be massive. Having some sort of incentive like this or something that brings these guys in to do it would be fantastic not only to watch but for the league and Haiti if it is for that as well.

Get it done!!!!

Because really, Allstar saturday night has turned to shit.

I personally don't want to see Lebron in the dunk comp...He'd just do that one handed tomahawk everytime and people would be creaming in their pants...He was in the all american dunk comp in high school and did nothing astounding yet won because of the hype. I'd rather see Chris Quinn throwing down.

You can't even buy tickets to all-star Saturday night. ANd the ones on ebay are going for like 10K a pop. I echo the sentiments of this board - the dunk contest has done to shit. Someone needs to pony up some cash so there's a bit more incentive to some of these players.

I think only Dallas season ticket holders can get tickets for Saturday
rest are for sponsors I guess

All the money should go to haiti, these would be nba superstars performing. They got mad money. The incentive should be helping out Haiti.

God I'd love to see a great dunk contest with superstars in it. It'd be for a great cause too, so I don't see why it couldn't happen.

This would be a great way to assist the ppl of Haiti. Also bringing together "elite" dunkers would be a great look for the NBA SDC. Great idea by Shaq!
