Stephen Jackson, according to several sources, recently told teammates he would gladly accept a trade out of Golden State.

He signed an extension at the beginning of the 2008-09 season.
Bargs, Moon git'r done BC

Ex2k 12-24-2008 03:09 PM

Yeah i just heard it on the radio. Apparently Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette have asked for a trade out of GS.

I WOULD LOVEEE Jackson here.

spuriousjones 12-24-2008 03:35 PM

Outgoing Players: O'Neal, Kapono, Moon, Solomon, Adams (+pick?)
Incoming Players: Anthony Randolph, Marcus Williams, Brandan Wright, Marco Belinelli, Corey Maggette, Stephen Jackson

we take on a huge amount of long-term salary but bring in guys that can add value now and a bunch of promising youngsters. we wouldn't be able to be a player in 2010 (unless bosh bolts) but are we going to be ale to get more talent than that for the money?

Andrea/Jake/Jawai
Bosh/Wright/Humphries
Maggette/Graham/Randolph
Jackson/Parker/Bellineli
Calderon/Ukic/Willaims

Gurk 12-24-2008 04:03 PM

Bring Jax to town:yeah:

Snooch 12-24-2008 04:41 PM

Jax looks good in GS, not so much here.

ppg would drop by at least 7 or 8 per playing here.

Why you guys wanna keep Bargs?

Ball Don't Lie 12-24-2008 05:02 PM

You people want a leader at sg/sf thatll bring a new attitude to this team, JAX is that kind of guy. Hes shown that he can be a leader in the last couple of years and he has a big impact on winning and losing.

I wouldnt mind him here at all. He'd improve our defence and rebounding a ton and he'd shore up some of our outside problems on offence. In getting him we'd still have to get one more GOOD SG/SF to complete the team though because he isnt a star on offence obviously.

Raptorfan27 12-24-2008 05:20 PM

i dont think we can get him. plus he said all we can do is shoot

10gizzle 12-24-2008 05:32 PM

Jackson and any combo of Wright, Turiaf and Belinelli would be decent.

I think those guy can have decent potential on our team.

He can add to it. :mischief:

Febreezy 12-25-2008 02:25 AM

C'mon get it done BC.
If he does this he'd shut up the arm-chair GM's!

Kuzzy 12-25-2008 02:38 PM

ok jackson wont live up to the years left on his contract
and you think hes going to turn our franchise around? like seriously
i say do your best in 2010 to get a superstar to play with bosh
open as much cap space as possible
sign a solid coach
make toronto appealing with a winning record in 09
if 2010 FA plans dont work out...
start from scratch.
because bosh in my opinion will never be a good enough franchise player to take us far in the playoffs.. let alone win a championship

The MVP of West Hollywood 12-25-2008 02:43 PM

For Bargs/Parker, absolutely. I'd love it if we then did a 3 team trade where we got Hinrich, Miami got Jose, and Chicago got like Cook/Haslem. Then find a way to sign Delfino too. Hinrich/Delfino/Jackson/Bosh/JO = sexy.

The MVP of West Hollywood 12-25-2008 02:46 PM

Or just trade small contracts for Nocioni. Jose/Jackson/Nocioni/Bosh/JO is good

Kuzzy 12-25-2008 03:46 PM

hahaahah this isnt some nba video game
you just listed a chain of transactions.

dfunkie1 12-25-2008 05:15 PM

say no to super thugs who shoot 30%.

seriously, jackson's a nice player. my problem is that people believe him to be a lot better than what he is. he'd be a good 3rd option wingman, but his value is 2nd option borderline superhero. value would be too high. screw him and the ugly faces he makes.

Stonezz 12-26-2008 12:46 AM

He would be an upgrade but wouldn't turn the team around. I wouldn't mind him though but i do think he is a bit overrated

Windex 12-26-2008 04:24 AM

I'll use the overrated chant:

overrated :clap3::clap3::clap3::clap3::clap3:

overrated :clap3::clap3::clap3::clap3::clap3:

Maggette has a strained right hamstring and Jackson has a sprained left hand, explain to me how two injured players are going to have any short term affect on the team or be in the lineup even.

obviously they wouln't be in the lineup while injured. both will heal. (actually there's been some reports of jackson not being injured, rather nellie keeping him out.)

i'm no nostradomus, i can't say when either will be on the floor. but they're not really what i like about that deal -- they're more to help keep the team competitive now and for the next few years while the guys that i really do like in the deal develop. the short tem affect on the team would be the injection of bellineli, randolph and wright int the lineup, bringing more scoring and rebounding, whith the ancillary benefit of more development time at the 5 for andrea and kris and maybe even nate if he's ready.

the unwritten affect the two injured players would have is a kick in the ass to those playing the same positions: high paid proven vets are here now, get it together or you're never seeing the floor.
