Cavs Rumour: Ilgauskas to GSW for Jackson

Quote:
One rumor Iíve heard lately is that the Warriors have talked with Cleveland about acquiring Zydrunas Ilgauskas from the Cavaliers.

(UPDATE: Shoulda been more clear. Warriors, in looking to accomodate Jacksonís desire to leave, talked with Cleveland about trading Jackson for Ilgauskas.) This seems like a move the Warriors would love to make, which leads me to believe Cleveland either isnít that interested in Jackson (they did sign Anthony Parker and they have Delonte West at shooting guard already) or they want more in exchange for Ilgauskasí $11.5 million expiring contract.

Not sure why GS would all of a sudden go after an aging center who thrives in slow-it-down half-court basketball.

He'd play minimal minutes behind Biedrins and i believe his contract expires after this season and he's contemplating retirement.

why would they trade a 20 point player for an old fossil who will be a back up to beidrins?
especially an old fossil that goes against their run n' gun system...
this is a nonsense rumour.

Who said that? I'm saying that would be the only reason they would even consider this.

Iggy is perfect for Clev right now with Shaq. He can come off the bench and stretch the defense. It would be a mistake to trade him.

No way that's gonna happen.
Z is in the perfect situation coming in behind Shaq.
I believe Cleveland has way more class than to trade away a guy who has been so productive and is still productive for them.
Also, LeBron would probably have a hissy fit if they did trade him away and whatever bron bron wants, bron bron gets...especially with 2010 around the corner.
