Well.... it appears as though I've lost my title as #1 homer on this board.

Wow.

Couldn't agree more. To all the pro-tankers don't forget that this mess in Cleveland, could easily happen to us if we ever decide to take. Just goes to show that tanking for high draft picks does not guarantee a successful team.

Well said. I'm still amazed by all the horrible decisions that they have made with there draft picks. To me JV over TT was a given but they screwed that up. You would think the every next year they would have drafted Drummond or Barnes as they still desperately needed a future starting C over Andy V and a starting SF, yet they take Waiters simply because he had a great draft combine.

It's like their scouts seem to forget some rookies are going to dominant others in the combine, but can the one's that dominate eventually do the same against the guys in the NBA. While Waiters isn't bad, he surely wasn't the right pick there.

Everyone is going to question the Bennett pick (which yet again I say was the wrong pick) but I will still give the guy time as it is only his first year. But like I said before he did not show up in game shape and wasn't prepared to play in the NBA and it's going to be hard for him to bounce back with all that pressure placed on him. While the majority of those players in the Bennett draft haven't shown much so far, the right pick would have easily been Oladipo.

They could have potentially had a starting lineup already of:

Irving, Oladipo, Deng TT, Drummond

Irving Oladipo Barnes, Varejao, JV

Irving Oladipo Deng, Varejao, Drummond

But instead they are stuck with the current shit roster they have. Out of all of those I would have preferred the first one if I was Cleveland's GM or coach

um, at the risk of sounding like a total fucking asshole... LOLWUT?

Dude, you also thought Rudy Gay was like Scottie Pippen. This is precisely how players end up being a huge dissapointment when they don't live up to unfair expectations. Don't compare Ross to Jordan level talent!

If we're lucky, Ross gets better at mixing up his offensive game and becomes a 20ppg, two-way player who can make an all-star game. Like if Jason Richardson played better defense. That alone is a pretty good ceiling. But Jordan? We're talking about Michael fucking Jordan?

I think you just dated yourself, because that statement tells me that there is no way you're old enough to have ever watched pre-Wizards Michael Jordan play.

Can the mods create a 'Hall of Fame' board that celebrates the great posts of this boards history, and sticky this post at the top forever? Or just put this one post on said board, and just lock the board, so everyone can read and re-read the greatness that is this post?

That may be the greatest thing that anyone has ever done using a keyboard. Ever.

Just surreal greatness.

I'm not saying he's going to be Dare I say Jordan again.

I'm saying he has the god given gifts to play like Jordan.

The only question is (as the same with Vince Carter), is that he does the full time extra had work to get to that kind of level & keep it.

He needs to be a gym rat, he needs to study film. But it is up to him.

Cleveland looks just as good with Jack or Dellavedova on the floor. They should trade Irving.

If they trade Irving and get .50 on the dollar, they're going to be in team purgatory for a loooong time. This is another case of bad management, and not knowing how to build around a star player.

They shouldn't trade him at half his value. Don't see how that would put them in purgatory, they've shown some good chemistry without Irving on the floor.

As far as management being at fault; Irving gets no credit himself? he has shown little in the leadership department and hasn't shown the ability to really make his teammates better. I don't think he'll ever be the best player on a winning basketball team. He needs to play beside an elite sf or pf.

The only way they'd trade him right now is if he demanded out, and at that point he would get traded at half of his value because he'd be holding CLE hostage and rush them to trade him.

They may have shown good chemistry without him, but scouting catches up quickly. They're not going to win enough games over the long haul with a PG combination of Dellevadova and Jack, lets be real.

Irving gets blame too, but hiring Mike Brown was their biggest mistake. Their roster has pieces, but the pieces don't really fit, and Mike Brown definitely isn't the guy to make them fit. He's supposed to be a defensive coach, but they have one of the worst defences in the league, and offensively, he has absolutely no idea what hes doing.

Um clearly you haven't been paying attention to their first round draft choices since Irving. They could've been insanely devastating.

Like, say, Lebron....if he were to return to Cleveland?

But that ship, if it was ever in harbour, has probably sailed after the way the Cavs fucked shit up with their moves the past 10 months.
