Rudy Gay is shooting 51.4% Since The Trade
Looks like one those rare win-win trades for both teams so far :cookie:

![]() Yeah, he's been impressive. Today he had 20pts/5reb on 8-12 shooting. He's certainly being more selective. While here he was taking 18 shots (averaged 19ppg) per game in Sac he's taking 15 (averaging 21.6ppg).

![]() Bad fit with this roster imo and Casey was out to lunch with how to use him. If we needed to score, he automatically gave it to Gay every time and overall we played way too much isolation basketball which Casey has to take a good chunk of the blame imo.

Gay couldn't hit layups here, and he got a lot of them. What part of that is Casey's fault? Maybe Rudy just figured out he was going to be fucking up his future if he didn't start producing. |

![]() They ran the same sets. Yes everyone played iso, because they knew if they didn't that Rudy would. DD was not nearly as bad. He would pass it to Rudy quite often after driving and setting up some offense, only to have Rudy hold the ball and reset. The bad mix began and ended with Rudy. There's a reason that everything changed the moment he left.

To be honest lets give him the rest of the year also to evaluate him....he played pretty well for Toronto when he came over last year aswell. |

![]() Another factor with the isos, aside from Rudy having tunnel vision, was defenses deciding to give them the perimeter shots and congesting the middle. Defenses did not have to move very much without the spacing provided by a three point threat. Now you have a lot of movement created by a guy like Demar getting doubled, whereas before he would have the open jumper from some distance, which defenses would concede, and not much there for anyone else. If Rudy had hit threes consistently, or not taken early offense off the table by always allowing defenses to get set, then things might have turned out better, but as it turned out there was just a lot of frustration for everyone involved and roles that went unfulfilled.
He's a player that needs others to make him better, and not one to make the others better. |

I would like to see his high school stats equate in the NBA & he is well on his way to those numbers: Compton High Stats: 29.2 ppg, 7.9 rpg., 3.9 apg. and 3.0 spg., while shooting 82.0 percent from the free throw line. I would like to see 25ppg, 6rpg, 5apg, 1.5spg., while shooting 82.0 percent from the free throw line. |
