Rubio staying in Spain?

Doesn't look like he's thrilled about Minnesota?

A report on Marca on Thursday night quoted Ricky Rubio's father as saying he will likely remain in Spain instead of joining the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Kevin Love sent out a Twitter post on Friday indicating that Rubio indeed would remain in Spain.

"Rubio to stay in Spain according to his father," writes Love.

Rubio is worth waiting for a year IMO. Like Larry Bird or most hockey and baseball players

This isn't about him waiting Minny or not wanting to play in the NBA. It's completely his buyout which his rookie contract doesn't cover

Knicks smelling blood in the water?

Donnie Walsh says he'll call his former employee David Kahn about Ricky Rubio.

"I haven't spoken to Minnesota, I will," Walsh said. "I don't know what's going on there. He took a lot of point guards so I want to ask him, 'Why did you do that?' In a way that kind of helped us because that left us with two players that were, in our mind, really good players. I just want to find out."

Kahn gave a radio interview saying he has no intention of trading Rubio and that he chose another point guard, Jonny Flynn, because he was aware that Rubio could remain in Europe next season.

Rubio "was desperately hopeful he would somehow wind up with the Knicks and, apparently, is still holding out hope," writes Alan Hahn of Newsday. "It is pretty clear that he would immediately report if the Knicks acquired his rights."

I would not be shocked if he never plays for the Wolves. What the hell were they thinking drafting him and Flynn? They gave up so much for the second draft pick to draft another PG? Give me a break.

They get to keep his right forever. Once he dies they'll go away
