Default Real GM: Rubio to stay in Europe for two more years

RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Rubio Will Stay In Spain For Two Seasons

This doesn't bode so well for Rubio's trustworthiness going forward...

Rubio's starting to sound like the Dany Heatley of the NBA. What a baby.

Yeah, well why would anyone want to play in Ottawa? Almost as bad as playing in Minnesota.

Why should the Wolves give into Rubio? He hasn't proven anything yet. They did the right thing by selecting him, the BPA. They probably knew Rubio wouldn't come over, so they selected Flynn with the next pick as a security blanket.

Exactly. Curry might have been a better option than Flynn, but Rubio was absolutely the right guy to take at 5. Kahn worked the whole thing perfectly.

They probably knew he wasn't coming?

He came out in the media right before the draft saying his only plan was the NBA...said it was his dream and that he was going to stay in the NBA even if it meant he wasn't going to make a cent all year (since he would have to pay his own way out of his contract in Europe).

He's pulling a Steve Francis...

I dont understand the disrespect. He has to pay more than 8 million dollars of his own pocket to play in the NBA right now. He currently gets paid 150.000 dollars a year. He doesnt have any problem with playing in Minny, but he will have a low salary because of the lower pick and he wont get enough money from.endorsments to help pay the debt.
His agent screw up, but I dont see why so much disrespect for a kid who was willing to go away from home and actually PAY to play in the NBA. Theres no confirmation of this article really either. He might still play there.

If he was going to pull out he should have done so before a team wasted their pick on him. He went through with the draft, he shouldn't pull out now, he should take it like a man and stay

Why do you think a team wasted their pick on him. They still get him in 2 years. Teams have waited for prospects before: David Robinson finished 2 years in the Navy before going to the Spurs, Larry Bird spent a year in college after getting drafted. The Wolves weren't going to make the playoffs this year anyways. With Flynn, Jefferson, Love, they probably challenge 30 games this year though

If he goes back to Spain for 2 year, Minny may regret not trading for Battier and Rocket's pg whose name escapes me right now.

dany heatley is the new poster boy of the nhl now. he's not the first and won't be the last. also, i would like to add in that i hate that gary buttman( i like to call him giant bumfucker). david stern made the smartest move in i think it was 93 when he fired him. he's totally made a mess of the nhl and he is anti-canada(hates canada).

Ricky Rubio i swear to god is the real life lucky from lucky charms cereal. except, not so lucky. he looks like him and talks like him. hell, he was probably hopping like him after, he got drafted.
