Rose: PEDs a Big Issue in the NBA

Quote:

"On a scale of 1 to 10, how big of an issue is illegal enhancing in the NBA?"

Derrick Rose: " Seven. It's huge and I think we need a level playing field where nobody has that advantage over the next person."

So....People pay big money to go see their team win and to have some other team win because of someone who is cheating there way to victory would be shitty. I agree with him.

There's a guy in Miami (not Bosh) that I'm sure has been on HGH for awhile.

carp 05-13-2011 09:14 AM

how does he know? Are his teammates using?

StartingBench 05-13-2011 09:34 AM

Not surprising.

I think just about anyone, if given the chance to play in the NBA and all you needed was a little help, you would probably do it.

haha...i do think the timing is funny given his big-jawed opponents in the next round.

I think this is a reality any almost all professional sports. It's always been a race between chemists making drugs that can't be detected and governing bodies testing for newer drugs. When we look at the intensity of an 82 game regular season + playoffs + possible international play + rush to get back from injury, I doubt there are many stars who haven't taken some controversial add ons.

I read a really good article recently about this in soccer and about why we don't allow some type of drugs. There are so many ways that athletes can get an advantage legally where they still harm themselves in the long run, that it makes you wonder why we don't allow more enhancing drugs... I'll see if I can find the link.

If anyone is interested in the article, its in a big compilation of articles called The Blizzard. If you're a soccer fan I suggest it. It's on a "pay what you think its worth basis" at
http://www.theblizzard.co.uk/issues/zero
Its in issue 0 check out the article "Man and Superman"

Wow... just plain wow...

TORaptor4Ever 05-13-2011 10:22 AM

Interesting..... are there really THAT many players who are on PEDs though? On the whole I don't see many out there who LOOK like they would be....

I'd be willing to be quite alot of money that LBJ has at some point in his life taken HGH.

But why the wow? the just plain wow.....?

Take a look at the size of both Wade and Lebron's jaws and brows compared to when they first came in the league.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bosh dabbled before the 09-10 season. For a hard gainer to put on that much muscle in such a short period of time and lose it just as quickly seems a tad supicious, not to mention he was being treated by Galea at the same time.

J-Bo 05-13-2011 11:11 AM

Wade and Lebron got tumours growing out there jaws man damnnnn

Stonezz 05-13-2011 11:32 AM

Wade especially. His jaw is huge compared to when he was at Marquette

LEbron is def on some shit.
He has all the sure signs of some sort of HGH or Steroid use.
BUt then again, wouldnt it be fun if it was legal.
Increase the net height and watch some crazy roid rage dunks.

ARE YOU CRAZY? Lower the net and let 'em bring some space jam shizz on it!

If you're still not sure, you should see some of the thunderous dunks I can do on an 8 and a half foot rim.... Booyah.

;)

I remember Zaza pachulia gaining like 30 lbs one offseason and being stricken with loads of "backne" - acne all over his back.

The NBA does have a PED problem, it's just not always obvious.
