Seems like he has an Iverson like performance on a great team.

As good as he is on D, he cant play within a system on offence, as evidence by one of the worst shooting %s youll ever see a starter have at 34% from the field.

He cant make a midrange shot to save his life, and if he cant get straight to the rim or shoot a wide open 3 hes virtually useless on offence because all of his moves end up in clanks off the rim.

Hes been a terrible fit beside Tmac and Yao because he cant help space the floor for them. When someone closes out on him on the perimeter it causes the Houston offence to grind to a halt because he has no pullup game or moves off the dribble.

He hasnt even been all that great on defence either compared to previous years.

I think its safe to say he wont be a Rocket next year, but then again, it doesnt help that T baby is out every 2nd week with weak injuries, so the chemistry doesnt really even have a chance to form.

They have a chance to be really good, if Adelman can figure out how the hell to get that lineup to work, but its going to be virtually impossible because of the need for all of them to have the ball as the primary ball handlers. This is why Boston is so good, because KG and Allen can play off the ball, Tmac and Artest cant.

Looks like its going to be another wasted year in Houston. They need to trade Tmac in the offseason and get a real 2nd option to play with Yao because right now theyre just wasting him and Adelmans fantastic offensive system if he had the right players to use.

They should've got an upgrade at the PF or PG position.

They already had a kinder, gentler version of Artest in Battier.

True enough.

Gotta love Battier, he's all about the team, plays within his ablilties, and hustles like a beast. Imagine if there were many more players that went through all 4 years of college? Now there's a guy I would absolutely love to have on the Raptors.

i still say there biggest mistake was trading Rudy Gay for Battier.
Battier is a glue guy and team ambassador, but Rudy Gay is just damn awesome. right now, they'd have Gay and Yao tearing up the league, and would have no need whatsoever for Tmac and his broken body. at this point in their careers, Tmac couldnt hold a candle to Gay.
they could of traded Tmac for a decent PF or PG combo and would be a very good squad.

instead they are stuck with tmac, and Yao is wasting a healthy (so far) season playing alongside artest... who cant hit a jumper to save his life.
you ever see the boxscores for a Rockets game? 4-16... 3-10... 5-18... artest couldnt hit a shot if his life depended on it.

I think their PF position is fine with Scola and Landry, theyre a perfect mix beside Yao. On any other team Scola would be a very strong 6th man like Landry is now, but since Yao is in the middle Scola is more than adequate at pf.

They need a new leader in the backcourt though. Mcgrady just isnt going to cut it, they need to move on, the way he approaches the game now is a joke. he had all summer to get rest and yet hes still injured. Ship him off to a bad team and get their franchise guy and rebuild around Yao the right way. Alston needs to go too because Brooks is already way better than him in his 2nd year.

If they had a Gay/Mayo/Granger type+ a solid PG instead of Tmac and Alston theyd actually be title contenders this year.

Theyve got a more than adequate 3-10 rotation, but they need someone who is reliable in the least to lead them on the perimeter and close out games. Tmac was able to do that in Orlando with his insane scoring ability, but its been pretty much gone since he came to Houston in comparison.

The way hes played and acted this year pisses me off more than Carmelos entire career, and Carmelo is probably my most hated player. Tmacs injuries are a joke, hes like Shaq now.
