The Kings are giving the future Seattle fans a nice big one finger salute.

They still traded a good role player in Patterson and 2 scrubs for a rookie with a lot of upside. He may be undersized, but hes got the athleticism, talent, and length to make up for it.

Either way the Kings look stupid. If Robinson works out, then its a horrible trade, and even if he doesnt, what the hell were they thinking taking him in the first place?

I just dont think you give up on a young player who you drafted in the top 5 that easilym especially in his first season, ESPECIALLY for what they got back. You want to trade him in a package for a star player or game changer? Sure. But for a role player and scrubs? What the hell is that?

Yea this trade makes absolutely no sense for the Kings. How can you even think about giving up on your first rounder so quickly and that too for nothing really valuable in return

Man... when you think about it some more... SAC could have taken Drummond or Lillard @ #5 and didn't... because they liked this kid more as a big.... and then they trade him??

Makes. No. Sense.

I'm glad I'm not a Kings fan because I'd be livid lol.

Whatever happened to Cole Aldrich. I had high expectations for this guy coming out of college and he's just flopped since going pro.

Hopefully he'll get some burn in Sactown.

The CSN announcers for Houston tonight have been talking about how this opens rooms for Motiejunas, Jones, and Smith, but I don't see how it will make a difference. They still have too many young 4s on the team.

Meanwhile, the Kings give up on Robinson way earlier than I expected (though, like carp, I'm somewhat skeptical of him).

Source: Rockets have not abandoned their hope of landing Dwight Howard and the deals made today, which could clear even more cap room for Houston, are part of a plan to continue their pursuit of him. Nothing will happen before Thursday, but this summer is a different story. The question still remains: will DH change his mind about playing there? The success of James Harden in particular, and the Rockets in general, certainly can't hurt.
All part of Houston's bigger plan, according to sources.

haha well that's about the only explanation. they don't want to be like the Sonics who gave OKC Durant and a bunch of other talent and picks. the Kings are going to strip it down, incoming Cousins for Aaron Gray, Tyreke for Leandro barbosa, and multiple 1st rounders for multiple 2nd rounders! Enjoy, Seattle!

Yahoo! writer Kelly Dwyer just took a dump on the Maloofs.

Quote:
The current Sacramento Kings owners have proven time and time again that they do not care about the squad’s fans, the community that surrounds the team, and the product on the court. The Sacramento Kings owners are sniveling, conniving front-runners that do not understand the game of basketball, much less the ideals that help buttress attempts at tact, poise and reason. Also, they just traded a rookie lottery pick in order to save a few hundred thousand bucks as their final miserable season as Kings owners nears its end.

Quote:
This was all about the Kings sending out over $10 million in salary and receiving just over $6.5 million back.

Of course, the season is nearly two-thirds over, and those full-year salaries are nearly two-thirds paid. The savings aren’t even that significant. The Kings just dealt Thomas Robinson to save 27 games worth of salary on a player that they selected eight months ago as a top five pick. These are the Sacramento Kings owners. They frost their tips, they fail at business, and they dislike Sacramento Kings fans.

They’re also attempting to sell the team to owners that will immediately relocate the franchise. They know what they’re doing, and they don’t care. They also probably don’t use turn signals, and I bet they call appetizers “apps.”
Quote:

The Kings are cutting costs in anticipation of a potential sale. NBA? You have less than a day to take advantage. Everything must go, save for those d-bag shirts that the owners like to wear.
