Robinson: Duncan is the best PF of all time

Quote:
David Robinson gave props to former teammate Tim Duncan during his Hall of Fame acceptance speech on Friday.

"Timmy, my man," Robinson said while looking over at a Spurs contingent in the audience that included Duncan, coach Gregg Popovich, owner Peter Holt and general manager R.C. Buford. "The greatest power forward ever to play the game, in my opinion."

Turning back to the entire crowd, Robinson admitted that he was praying San Antonio would land a player like Duncan way back when.

"Have you ever gotten down on your knees and prayed for something real hard? (Timmy) was my answered prayer."

One word:
Barkley

Duncan is the greatest PF of his generation. But he lacks the shooting touch and pure dominance that Barkley exhibited.

Timmy has delivered championships (key letter "s") whereas the others have not. That is what sets him apart in my opinion.

Can't argue with the Admiral. It'll get you court-marshalled.
Besides, the guy's a genius.

i don't want to take anything away from Duncan but the other guys didn't have the amount of talent Duncan had when he won the championships....

Mm...Barkley had Drexler and Olajuwon one year, and Malone had a top five all-time PG.

Are you insinuating that without Duncan, the Spurs team will still be a respectable team?

but i will guarantee you if either malone or barkley were to switch places with duncan...the spurs would still have the same amount of success.....do you disagree with that?....basketball is a team sport...one player cannot win championships all by himself.....so to say that malone or barkley arent as good as duncan just because they don't have the rings to prove it, is wrong in my opinion....

I still think he is the best PF, not a dominant physical player and doesn't rely on his athletic abilities but he is one smart cookie.

Stockton said he thought Malone was the greatest. Big shock. Stockton didn't need to involve God in the debate.

Duncan didn't have to compete with the Bulls.

Personally, I would take Malone over Barkley and Duncan.

Duncan didn't have a Stockton. My heart does say Malone as well though.

1.Malone
2.Barkley
3.Duncan
4.Garnett
5.Webber
6.McHale
7.Dirk
8.Amare
9.Bosh

At least this is my list...

Malone & Barkley were in there prime the same time as Jordan was winning championships if Duncans teams had played against Jordans he wouldn't have any championships.
