Good move by the Spurs.

Dead wood for a guy that's still relatively young with lots of playoff experience.

I think you're all under rating what Bowen can do for a team.

A 38 year old Bowen versus a 28 year old Jefferson?

I think I just threw up in my mouth. Bowen is finished, its a pure salary dump by MIL. They could have at least gotten a young player out of it but noooo, they have to make the Spurs the favorite for the title next year. Uch

And if thats all it took, the inevitable....WHY DIDNT BC GET BEANHEAD

I wonder if this means that Tiago Splitter comes over from overseas to play the 5.

Meh. Jeffewrson doesn't seem to have heart, so 28 or 38, I just dunno about the guy.

As for Milwaukee.... What can ya say, they feel they have room at the wing to grow a new kid maybe.

I don't think this in anyway makes them the favorites at all.

I'm pretty sure the Bucks now have room to re-sign Sessions ( i think at least one of those contracts is only partially guaranteed, if it's Bowen then he's re-signing with the Spurs.) If not, then i've got no clue. Scott Skiles stocking up on defenders maybe.

If they can stay healthy, I'd say it makes them one of the favourites.

Sure they'd be up there with Cleveland/Orlando/LA and a few others but they certainly wouldn't be the favorites.

Big if. Healthy though, I'd still say they're the third best team in the West.

They have Jefferson as a FOURTH option with quality role guys like Mason Finley and Bonner to round out their rotation, and with the Spurs management theres no way they dont get at least one more quality big whether its re signing Gooden and signing another 7 footer for cheap or something along those lines, I dont see how that core of 4+very good role players isnt the favorite come day 1 especially if Lakers lose one of their 2 big free agents. If they do get both back I think its neck and neck, and the Celtics and Magic being up there as long as they fill out their benches as well.

I like the Spurs team overall though if healthy. 1-8 theyd be the best overall with the best coach so its hard to argue against them IMO.
