Wizards RealGM: Wizards Make Offer for Ginobili

No specifics, but i wonder what they would offer the Spurs?

Quote:
The Washington Wizards have made a trade offer for Manu Ginoibili.

Asked by the Argentine press this week whether he thought he could be traded, he said “impossible” had lost a few letters.

“Today I believe there is a chance it could happen,” Ginobili said.

“People get in trouble when they say never,” Gregg Popovich said Wednesday.

“But Manu Ginobili is someone I cannot envision trading,” Popovich continued. “He has been such a huge part of our heart and soul; people like that are hard to come by. You don't even think about trading somebody like that. I can't imagine a scenario where he would be traded

I would consider it if i were the Spurs. They really need some energy and some new blood imo. Ginobili is a very good player, but it's interesting.

I would imagine the Spurs would want Thomas or Haywood included in the deal as they haven't had a legit center since they traded Rasho to Toronto.

I'm the biggest fan of Argentines and I think this deal should be done (5th pick, Etan Thomas and Songaila for Manu)

It's time to move on (for Manu). He heard a lot of rubish this season and I'm starting to think that he's tired of having his National Team decisions questioned and the Spurs aren't a great team anymore

He's half of the puzzle for the Wizards. If they get a shot blocker on FA, they're real championship contenders

I dont think theres a chance in hell the Spurs trade one of the biggest gamechangers in the league for the 5th pick in a terrible draft. Injured or not.

Agreed, there's no way Poppovich is letting Manu go. You can take that one to the bank.

I as a spurs fan want this trade to happen because the way the Spurs played this year in the playoffs, even with ginobili healthy they still won't make it past the 2nd round.

It's not Poppovich's decision.

I don't really see this as being a terrible draft. I hear that almost every year, and every year it turns out to be a decent-good draft. At least for the most part. I think the top 20 picks are pretty decent imo.

Imagine a backcourt of Arenas and Ginobilli. I wonder how many games this two will give the Wizards in a season? Then again, if they have those 2 together, they're freakishly scary offensively.

If Arenas is playing point guard they won't maximize Ginobili's effectiveness on offense. I'm still kind of curious as to where they'd position Ginobili and even Arenas if this trade ever ends up going down. They've talked about moving Arenas to the two before.

IMO Arenas will never be the same player he once was. He's nearly done, and i'm guessing the Wiz are regretting giving him that big ass contract!

arenas is just a ball hog. He's the kind of guy that can never give you a championship. Just like Allen Suitcase Iverson
