Knicks Real GM: Knicks Lining Up Alternatives To LeBron

From Real GM:

Quote:
Knicks Lining Up Alternatives To LeBron

If LeBron James ultimately decides to stay in Cleveland, the Knicks have a number of fallback options to target in the next few summers.

In 2011, guys like Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant are expected to hit the free agent market.

If Anthony and Durant don't move to New York, then Chris Paul and Deron Williams could become options in the summer of 2012.
Does anyone want to play for the Knicks? They're starting to remind me of that kid who was chosen last for any team in gym class

The quote is not very reasonable I think. LeBron or not, NY will put a respectable team on the court in 2010/11 I'm sure. Mike D'Antoni is not going to piss his career away without a shout.

Wow.
So there gonna wait and pray for a star to fall into their lap?

Honestly imo, I don't think Melo's going anywhere.

Yeah, that's how you build a franchise. Just wait and hope that another team's star will come to you.

Steve Nash wants to go there. Too bad he'll be ready to retire the following year.

or they can continuously to tank and keep getting high draft picks, although that doesn't seem like its working too well.

Ok seriously, the knicks need to stop this bullshit. now.

With the amount of cap space they have, they can get a whole bunch of decent players instead of getting a superstar then building a bunch of cheap scrubs around him.

Lebron is really the only superstar that can "carry" a group of scrubs, and even then you're looking at an above average / good team. If the Knicks can't land Lebron and they're forced to fork over big money to snag a Durant or a Wade, that franchise will be in severe purgatory for years.

Doesn't this diminish all the moves they made to clear up cap space to get Lebron in 2010....thats what they've been selling to the fans for 2 years now....if i am a Knicks fan i would be fuckin pissed....i would want everyone in the knicks organization fired....and if they do have doubt about lebron coming to NY, they should resign David Lee & Nate Robinson ASAP...they are arguably two of the most talented/proven players they've got....

It will be a sad day when the New York Knicks go bankrupt.

When does Jose's contract expire? is it 2012, team option 2013?
Depending on Jose's contract we should consider going after Chris Paul...

What do you mean by "this"?

All I see is a quote - out of context - that suggests the Knicks won't do anything if mr. James won't come - or maybe mr. Wade. Makes no sense to me.

They have approximately 30 M cap-space without Lee and Robinson next summer - more if the cap doesn't drop. If the cap does drop that space will still be huge because other won't have as much either and salaries will drop accordingly.

Didn't they just do that and bring in Walsh?

Impossible. Calderon has one year left when Paul hits the market.

Lebron and Stephen Curry would make an excellent tandem.

...oh wait!
