Proof that the NBA wants the Heat in the Finals

We've seen obvious evidence in the past (like the Kings & TrailBlazers being screwed over in the early 2000's by the refs whistle in favor of the Lakers) that the NBA has a preference as to who they want to see in the Finals.

For my money,it's clear they(the NBA) want the Miami Heat and LeBron James there this season. What's the difference between these two plays,in the playoffs committed by frustrated Heat players? On

Posey on Hinrich '2006

Wade on Collison '2012
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

In my opinion Wade's forearm check was way dirtier then Posey's hipcheck, Posey received a game suspension for that and Wade gets nothing!!! Bogus...
What's fair is fair and this is why people think the NBA is rigged because they play favorites with the superstars(that they create most of the times). I believe it's because they know it will be very tough for Miami to win a pivotal Game 3 on the road in Indiana without Bosh and Wade.

Am I lying? Is there any difference between the two plays?
Should Wade have been suspended at least a game in your opinion? If yeah, why do you think he wasn't even fined(at the moment) much less suspended a game...

Just asking....

I hope they win too,but I don't really care if Miami does either, that's not the discussion...

I'm asking if there's a difference between those two plays and if no,why in your opinion didn't Wade get suspended for one game at least? How about answering that....

Yes, he should have been suspended. I don't think you can fine a guy for a flagrant 1 though. I could also be making that up.

I'm not sure either,my guess is no though. I don't know, maybe I'm going too far with thinking the league wants the Heat to reach the Finals but it was a non basketball play and hard foul..Jason Smith got 2 games for hammering Blake Griffin this season. I just have to wonder if it was James Jones or a Mike Miller would they get suspended for committing the same flagrant on Collison as Wade.

If that's true, then the NBA can just upgrade his flagrant 1 to a flagrant 2 and proceed to suspend him. Won't happen, but that's the solution.

Yes, I only meant I don't think they have the option of not calling it a Flagrant 2 and still fining him.

I do agree though that if it was the other way around and Collison did this to Wade, I think a suspension is a lot more likely.

Blaze 05-16-2012 07:34 PM

Because NBA refs have every play in NBA history in their head when they make or don't make a call...

My bad, I misread your post.

It was called properly, and he wasn't hit as hard as Posey hit Hinrich. Not every call is called the same. You can't expect, in the playoffs, that they'll call or not call things.

I'm not blaming the refs, they did as good of a job calling it in real time as possible. I'm talking about Stu Jackson & Co. up at the league's office. This should easily be upgraded to a Flagrant Two resulting in a one game suspension,it was retaliatory and excessive, considering Collison didn't even have the ball and was checked from behind(resembled a defensive pass interference penalty in Football). That's why you review incidents after the fact to make the correct judgement.

Hinrich is bigger than DC i'll give you that but you need to check both replays again. Kirk didn't even hit the ground and was hipchecked running side by side with Posey,he even had the ball lol. No way that play was dirtier than Wade's cheapshot.

Flagrant "2" (FFP2) - unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent. The opposing team is awarded two (2) free throws and possession and the player committing the foul is automatically ejected.

meh, its something you just gotta expect to happen

Sorry I misinterpreted what you were trying to say, I thought you were blaming the refs for the call. My bad.

You will never find the video of the 4th quarter back when the Blazers got hosed. You might see the Lakers highlights, but the actual video has been burned.

Tim Donaghy is my hero.
