Default Previous 9th Overall Picks

These players are all 9th picks.
From the past 25 years.

But how has #9 been to teams over the past 25 years? Have a look at some of the names:

YES:

Andre Iguodala - 2004
Amare Stoudemire - 2002
Shawn Marion - 1999
Dirk Nowitzki - 1998
Tracy McGrady - 1997
Stacey Augmon - 1991
Rony Seikaly - 1988
Derrick McKey - 1987
Charles Oakley - 1985
Otis Thorpe - 1984

NO:

Samaki Walker - 1996
Mike Sweetney - 2003
Ed O'Bannon - 1995

MAYBE:

DJ Augustin - 2008
Joakim Noah - 2007
Patrick O'Bryant - 2006
Ike Diogu - 2005
Rodney White - 2001
Joel Pryzbilla - 2000
Eric Montross - 1994
Rodney Rogers - 1993
Clarence Weatherspoon - 1992

So where does this leave the 2009 draftee?
For now his "maybe" but let's hope we can add him to the "yes" list.

It was by Eric Smith, so I don't think he can say anything bad about a raptor, on the website.

montross was actually a decent player, maybe not a #9 pick, but definitely somewhere in the 1st round, he just had some foot problem that made him have to retire or i think he would've been able to have a rasho type of career

like i said he is a center who has a jump shot. he is on the line. his potential is looking very slim. but, it's early in his career. so, i'm gonna give him the benfit of the doubt.

I don't know about you guys, but Rodney Rogers was a pretty solid role player for a good part of his career. I'd put him in the 'YES' section. Same with Clarence Weatherspoon.

Rodney White belongs in the 'NO' Section as well. The man has completely fallen off the map.

Rodney Rogers and Clarence Weatherspoon were both undersized but strong power forwards that were pretty effective until their weight started ballooning. When they got that under control they both remained solid bench players and gradually faded out of the NBA. Rogers was a pretty explosive player and at one point was a sixth man candidate for the Suns back in the late 90s/early 2000s. He's also known for hitting three three pointers in the span of 9 seconds to win a ball game for the Nuggets.

Unfortunately, Rodney Rogers is paralyzed from the neck down after a freak bike accident. There was a pretty depressing clip of it on TNT that's posted on youtube.

I remember Montross. He was a big bald guy. The main reason I remebered him was because in like grade 3 or 4 I had a teacher named Mrs. Montross and I always used to think that she was his wife

I'd say yes to Pryzbilla. He can start on about 80% of the teams in the league today.
