I'd say Rose, mostly because I think he's more valuable to Chicago than Rondo is to Boston.

a better comparison would be Rose vs Westbrook

This was a silly poll. Toraptor has yet to vote so Rondo has hope for 1.

I voted for Rondo. Haven't seen Rose play in ages.

Rondo is the best point guard in the league. Assist machine and general boss.

Both are 2-way players, both can be assist machines, both are vital to their respective teams, Rose has a slight edge with his shot % and as a scorer but Rondo is more of a facilitator and plays the lanes much better than Rose does. Rondo, without a doubt, is a warrior (no way Rondo sits on his ass while cleared by doctors and feeling 90%). Rose's ceiling though is off the charts and he's just tapping into it.

Rose and his injury is frustrating, to watch a player sit after being cleared by the doctors and being 85-90% and NOT play to help your team in the play-offs? That's something you would never see Rondo do; however, despite my annoyance that Rose appears to not want to play through pain a la Rondo/Kobe, I don't actually know all the extenuating circumstances so I have to give Rose a pass.

Rose is catching Rondo quickly and within 2 years he will have surpassed Rondo imo; So based purely on ceilings, I would take Rose.

I don't think Rose has any catching up to do he is already better. He is questionably best PG in the game (even though I would give it to CP3)
As for injury Im sure it's not about the pain, it would be very very stupid of him to play if there is a risk that he might reinjure again. Chicago will need healthy 100% Rose much more than they do now, risk is just too big

Tapping into it?!?!?!...Winning league MVP was all hype because that's who Derrick Rose is....wait he led his team to 62 wins that year and followed it up by leading them to an even higher winning percentage the year after in a shortened season.

DRose was in the elite. Not the PG elite - the Kobe, LBJ, DWade elite.

Yes, tapping into it when compared to Rondo. Honestly, I think we've only just seen the beginning. As for winning percentage of the Bulls, well that's not all Rose. The Bulls made 5th place in the East WITHOUT Rose - the team is that good and that well coached - not to take anything away from Rose but that's a team effort for him to win the MVP.

Seriously, we're comparing Rondo to Rose - both elite players but Rose isn't on the level of LBJ....maybe Wade, Kobe but imo, LBJ is on a level by himself.

It's all subjective and I respect your opinion but Rondo leads in assists and is a better defender than both CP3 and Rose - not by much but he does. CP3 though makes up for it on the offensive end; more than the other 2.

As for Rose sitting - dude, the DOCTORS cleared him, it's all in his head and he even alluded to it - he doesn't want to come back out of sync and he's worried about pushing off. All valid concerns but not a reason to not play

Really, at the end of the day I would take any of these guys Rose/Rondo/CP3. All 3 have their strengths and weaknesses.

Lucas is by far the best out of these 3

on the more serious note.. on the offensive end Rose is the best scorer, Rondo is best at dishing assists, and CP3 best overall. I guess case could be made for either one. I'm still eager to see who will be the best next year when all 3 are healthy (hopefully)

off topic, but last couple of years I was hoping that KD can be just as good or better than LBJ. He is much more likable as a player to me than James.
but the way Lebron is playing right now leaves absolutely no doubts that he is by far the best

JL3 lmao......doh!

As for your James' comment, I too thought KD would at least equal him and what a year KD has had - brilliant really - but LBJ just took it to a level I just don't know if anyone will ever equal. But who knows.....I'm sure I'm not the only one but I said that about MJ too.

I think Rose could win on just about any team, wheras I could see Rondo making a few teams worse. That's not a knock on Rondo. I think almost all point guards not named Rose or Paul need the right situation and the right players around them to get the most out of their games. Even Paul floundered for a bit, though health was a good part of that. Rose just gets it done. No other factors seem to come into play, besides the knee.
