Playing two point guards at the same time

In NBA talk. Because Jay Triano is not alone in playing a "point guard combo".
I have had my own share of doubts about the whole playing Jack and Josť together, and still have sometimes to be honest, but since that has been an issue I have noticed a lot of teams do it actually, including almost all the top tier/playoff teams, which kind of surprised me.

Cleveland Cavaliers - Mo Williams & Delonte West
LA Lakers - Jordan Farmar & Shannon Brown (in crunchtime even, thus playing Bryant at 3)
Denver Nuggets - Ty Lawson & Chauncey Billups
Dallas Mavericks - Jason Kidd & Jason Terry (starters)
Chicago Bulls - Derrick Rose & Kirk Hinrich (starters)
Phoenix Suns - Steve Nash & Goran Dragic (closers)
Charlotte Bobcats - Raymond Felton & D.J. Augustin (closers)
Milwaukee Bucks - Brandon Jennings & Luke Ridnour (sometimes)
Golden State Warriors - Monta Ellis & Stephen Curry (starters)
Sacramento Kings - Beno Udrih & Tyreke Evans
New York Knicks - Chris Duhon & Nate Robinson

and Toronto of course.

If you consider Crawford a point guard (he plays it) the Hawks play him and Bibby sometimes too, that leaves the Celtics and the Spurs and the Magic as the only sure playoff teams that don't follow the trend (maybe Utah). some of the lower tier teams I don't know enough about to say.

It kind of surprised me. And I figured Triano didn't pull this one out of thin air (or his own hat). Apparently there's a broader consensus almost among NBA coaches that especially as the game progresses to put more ballhandlers on the floor or and go small. Sometimes the other side may do it as a counter but I've seen teams who don't do that too.

Yeah, but how many of those teams have a SF like Turk that can handle the ball. For the Raps it's redundancy and a liability with Jose defensive deficiencies. Although in specific instances it is okay like in our last game with NY, but I don't think it should be set in stone and except for the last game against NY Triano seems to not be going to it much anymore.

I think Mavs fans complain about just as much as we do..
