Pistons Pistons Sign Wilcox

It's believed that the Pistons, as of Thursday, have Rasho Nesterovic and Chris Wilcox ahead of Drew Gooden as their next free-agent targets, since it appears that they can't assemble an offer sheet rich enough for Glen Davis to keep the Boston Celtics from matching.

I'm surprised we haven't heard about more teams after Wilcox.

Honestly, BC should just offer Rasho the bi-annual now. There is no better player to spend it on anyway, regardless of what happens with Jack. We need him to back up Bargnani, or guys like Shaq will once again wipe the floor with Bargs and Bosh, no matter how much better on defense they are next season.

There are better players to spend it on, but we need a Big...so why not.

Yea, we need a back-up center more than we need depth at any other spot. Come on BC!

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to a two-year deal with free agent Chris Wilcox, a source told ESPN.com.

The deal is for $6 million over the next two years according to sources.

Wilcox was signed as a replacement for Antonio McDyess, who left the team via free agency to sign with the Spurs.

Wilcox is an athletic big who, at 26, still has some upside. However, he's coming off one of the worst seasons of his career.

The previous three years, Wilcox averaged a little more than 13 points, but his numbers dipped to 7.2 per game last season in time split between the Thunder and Knicks.

The Pistons are hoping Wilcox can provide some scoring and athleticism off the bench behind another free agent signing, Charlie Villanueva.

ya, their are definite better players to spend it on. but, we need a big so why not. although, no other team is heavily pursuing and only detroit are lightly pursuing rasho. so, why are we going to rush everything, when we can just wait for it all to fall in to place. while Mr. Bryan Colangelo sits on his deck drinking a corona.

i like this pickup for detroit.
wilcox is one of those guys that can have a HUGE season if everything aligns perfectly for him.
he had a horrible season last year but i'm sure he will bounce back.
i never realized he is only 26, so thats a big bonus for detroit.

Wilcox is a scrub. He only had a good season because he was playing on a scrub Seattle team.

he had 3 good seasons in seattle averaging 14/8 over that span of time.
how is he a scrub?

i wouldv'e loved Wilcox as a back up in toronto if we signed him.
give him the minutes and he'll contribute... he was putting up career numbers in seattle with 30 minutes a game... he gets under 14 a game in NY/OKC and people wonder why he had a shit season.
