Pippen goes off on Bosh and JVG

SLAM: You came out on the winning end of that "Will the Heat win 72 games?" discussion. How'd you know it'd be so tough for them to win so many games?

SP: I just felt it was an insult to every team that's played in this League to think that one team can be put together, and now all of a sudden we got-excuse my word-a jackass like Jeff Van Gundy saying they can win 72 games and break the Bulls' record. Who is he? So that was just something that he totally took out of proportion, to some degree-with respect to those two players, or I would say two and a half players, since I don't think Chris Bosh(notes) is half the player of LeBron James(notes). But there's no way those guys are gonna break any type of record. I don't think they can break the franchise record in Miami, or the state of Florida, I should say.

Scottie Pippen Rips Jeff Van Gundy's Heat Prediction, Calls Him A 'Jackass'

eazy187 02-12-2011 01:06 AM

Scottie Pippen.

:yeah:

SomeDPlease 02-12-2011 01:14 AM

Blasphemy. Bosh is a max-contract player, anyone bozo can see that. :police:

Sarcasm aside, I'd have to disagree with SP when he says they'll never break the record. Eventually, when they played a season or two together and have chemistry built up, the Heat will be a serious threat to break the 72 win record.

Why does Scotty cares so much about what JVG thinks?

TORaptor4Ever 02-12-2011 01:22 AM

Oh Scotty... lol....

ha123 02-12-2011 02:46 AM

lol why are all the legends getting so insecure about the miami heat? Scottie also took a shot at lebron saying that he wanted to be like him and not MJ.

For good measure, Pippen took a small jab at James, saying that the King probably grew up wanting to be like him, not Mike.

"I was probably the player that he mostly patterned his game after," Pippen said.

One thing I've been thinking of. Did everybody care this much when it was TD, Manu, and Parker? Or Ray, Paul, and KG?

Those big three's were put together through trades and picks. It's the way they went about it last summer that has left a bad taste in people's mouths.

TD, manu and parker were all drafted by the same team.

pzabby 02-12-2011 11:17 AM

in 2-3 years, once their chemistry has gone up and theyve signed two-three MLE players and more vets, the heat will be seriously dangerous. the only team i can see challenging them in 2-3 years would be the bulls and OKC.
