Pierce may have a broken foot

Quote:
Already reeling from a spate of injuries to key players, the Boston Celtics may have lost All-Star forward Paul Pierce for a significant period of time to a broken left foot, according to a league source.

The team does not know for sure if Pierce's foot is broken after X-rays taken Tuesday; more tests are scheduled. But it "looks that way," the league source said.

The Celtics are hopeful that even if the foot is broken that Pierce won't be out of the lineup for long. But they are not yet certain of that.

Pierce may have broken foot!

I think if he's out for a considerable amount of time the Raptors definitely have to have an eye on the Atlantic division. This celtic team looked like a dynasty in the making, but now....

holy shit guys,

YEAH PP broke his foot now the Raps can win the atlantic.

Bullshit

This is gonna bring bad Karma, I want the Raptors to be a better team because of their talent and determination, not because players on other teams get injured.

Get well soon Paul, but I still hate you, you bitch.

Ironically, it's possible (even if a slim chance) that this injury could actually help Boston and hurt the Raps. Why? Depending on the severity of this injury, Ainge might be prompted to seriously consider moving Ray Allen by the deadline. Even though it would be risky to mess with team chemistry, not making a move could be worse for Boston.

In fact, Snooch, I'm surprised you didn't start making trade proposals. Okay, fine, I'll do it.

To Washington
Ray Allen $19.8 mill (expiring)
1st round pick

To Boston
Caron Butler $9.8 mill
Mike Miller $9.8 mill (expiring)
Deshawn Stevenson $3.9 mill

Wizards get a pick and shed Stevenson's contract which saves them close to $8 mill because they are over the luxury tax threshold. Boston gets Butler to fill in for the injured PP, and Miller to provide the outside shooting that Allen provided. When PP returns from injury, Butler can move to the 2 guard, and Miller goes to the bench to provide even more depth. Having Miller and Butler would make it easier to limit PP's minutes when he returns from the injury.

Or

To Philly
Ray Allen $19.8 mill (expiring)
T. Allen $2.5 mill (expiring)
Scalabrine $3.4 mill (expiring) or Glenn Davis, if Philly wants him instead.
2nd rd pick

To Boston
Iggy $12.2 mill
Dalembert $11.4 mill
Kapono $6.2 mill

Philly does this deal to dump salary and rebuild. Boston does this deal mainly to get Iggy. He fills in as a slasher/playmaker while PP is out. Iggy's defense makes Boston even tougher to deal with, especially after PP returns and joins him in the starting lineup. Although they wouldn't want Dalembert and Kapono, it's the price Boston would have to pay in order to get Iggy. Having 3 solid, young defensive minded players, like Iggy, Rondo and Perkins, would ensure that Boston remains competitive for the next couple of years; and longer if Perkins is re-signed.

Well I hate the guy a lot and I enjoy the thought of him writhing in pain, I really do. But like Snooch I also hope he gets well... in about 10-20 years.

I can still see Aldridge on NBAtv talking about possible trade scenarios, and saying straight up that none of it was based on any kind of information, that they were just simply making shit up. Thanks for the honesty, but sticking to actual information that you've obtained is kinda what I expect out of your job performance David. You are not a weather forecaster.
