Nice.

One of the most underrated guards in the game.

Philly is really going to miss Miller this year.

I agree with Acie, it's a solid pickup for the Blazers.

They better hurry up and sign his ass before he changes his mind and bolts to another, more desirable location.

Check that, ESPN is reporting a 3 year deal for $21 million. If so, that's a steal for the Blazers.

$7 million included as a team option, the source said.

Miller had been balking at signing the 76ers' one-year offer, and the Blazers were one of only two teams with the money to give him more than the mid-level exception.

The Blazers have been looking for a veteran point guard for the past couple of seasons and have flirted with everyone from Jason Kidd to Kirk Hinrich.

With Miller the Blazers would get a savvy veteran who excels as a physical, post-up guard.

^^^They wouldn't have enough money to get Miller though. All they need is a backup PF now.

Probably not. Williams is not suited to PG. He's more of an undersized 2 than anything. They're going to have to go out and sign someone on the cheap. Until then, they're gonna have Holiday starting. Yikes.

This is going to hurt Portland in the playoffs if they dont get an SF that can really shoot the ball(assuming Webster isnt healthy again). You're going to have a situation where theres less space for Roy and Aldridge to operate because Miller is on the floor because Miller isnt an outside shooter nor a spot up shooter when he catches it. He can still be a nice fit because hes smart as fuck and hes a mismatch on a lot of nights but hes ball dependant too.

Itll hurt their spacing but it improves their overall talent and leadership. Itll be interesting to see how Portlands offence works out next year because any team with a PG that cant shoot outside of 15 ft in todays game is hurt at some time because of that, especially if hes now option 3.

I really think Hinrich would have been the better fit for them.

Lou williams will start in Philly...
he'll actually be quite fun to watch as well. Philly is gonna stink but i can see Williams having a Devin Harris type year next season... that kid can flat out score, although he jacks up terrible shot selections and he isnt suited for PG.

Difference being Harris is a lot quicker and is a MUCH better finisher. Harris being so quick opens up his midrange shot, whereas Williams takes too many CONTESTED midrange shots off the bounce.

Williams should be at 17 and 5 next year but hes not going to have any impact. Hes a 6th man at best, thats his ceiling.

In terms of Miller, one thing I overlooked is his impact with his passing to the bigs, which will open up something Portland didnt have last year. Him getting to the rim and dishing off to Oden will be invaluable and his ability to get to the 3 pt line as well.

But Portland should be far from done this offseason. They have Blake and Bayless backing up the 1, and Batum/Webster/Outlaw at the 3. They should package one of those guys from each position for a starting SF or to open up their cap space or get 1st rd picks or something because theres going to be some unhappy guys next year if not and they wont want that.

Webster must really be a happy man though because hes almost a shoe in to start with the lack of shooting at SF and them NEEDING a shooter there now with Miller in the mix.
