Magic Patrick Ewing wants to be a head coach

Quote:
Magic assistant coach Patrick Ewing is still looking for an opportunity to become a head coach in the NBA.

Ewing said Thursday night that Orlando has given him permission to interview for vacant positions during the postseason.

He's in his eighth season with the Magic and says that he has yet to be approached by any teams.

At least five teams -- the 76ers, Nets, Bulls, Hornets and Clippers -- are looking for a new head coach.

"Hoping I can get one one of these days soon," Ewing said.

I loved Ewing as a player but I think he is just too ugly to be a coach

Like pat I know ur college coach always said ur a "fine wine always better with age" but your ugliness don't get better

Ewing isn't headcoach material.
Sorry no one cares but your family for what you want.
That said wouldn't mind him as a big man coach for the Raptors

it seems like he has a burning desire to win a championship

cant do it as a player, whats the next best thing win as a coach,

I always like guys who have had there sons play ball well, his son went to college, and made a couple of nba rosters, so you know he knows how to teach the game

One of the most important requisites for a head coach is clear, precise diction and a bit of eloquence to inspire and command intellectual respect.

I have not heard Ewing speak, maybe he's quite good with words and clear, but if he's not, coaching is not the job for him.

Mark Jackson on the other hand I think might do ok as a coach, maybe not great, but I would give him a chance.
