Damn.... I remember liking him quite a bit back then and being disappointed that things didn't work for him here (or in the NBA for that matter). Hopefully he's a little more mature now and willing to take the game more seriously. Best of luck to him.

That confused me back then too.... because from what I remember whenever he DID see the floor he played pretty well. And it's not like our team was amazing... I'm guessing he just didn't get along with SMitch.

He's a 6'5 PF. Unless he's changed his game I doubt he gets any time in PHX either

6'6" and the reason he is getting signed is for his all around game.
He can defend 1-4 spots depending on matchups...
At least thats what his game is about.

Pretty much what Thrills said - undersized for the PF spot which is what he played in college.

I hope he can make it happen as a Corliss Williamson type 3.

Theres only two 6'6 or 6'7 PFs in the league by my recollection that are playing any kind of minutes in the NBA right now and thats Maxiell and Hayes, and both can defend their own position as well as C.

There isnt anyone in the NBA that I know of thats a 6'6 PF who guards multiple positions and does nothing on offence.

i liked PJ a lot in college. i thought it would have been an easy transition for him to switch over to the small forward spot simply because he played all over the floor while in texas. i never understood the pick and he never really got a fair shake simply because we already had so much time invested in joey graham.

regardless, he wasn't ready. i remember vaguely following him to see how he was doing in the d-league, and from what i saw (box scorers and lack of mention in recaps) he struggled there as well. the long road works well with some, so hopefully he's developed his skill set to better set at small forward.

and there's no way tucker is 6'6"

Pj is interesting, he has a pf mindset in a sg body but hasn't been able to really fit at the 2,3 or 4 - not at the NBA level anyways - too slow for sg and undersized to play the 3-4. Just a depth acquisition as I'm sure you can slot him in at the 2-3-4 if needed for spot minutes. I wouldn't expect anything more or consider him a lock down defender (or above average for that matter)at 4 positions. That's a reach. Players like Bowen, Tyson or Wallace who can lock their positions down will get paid big. If PJ was even close to that or better - guard 4 positions - he would be here in the NBA already.
