Magic Orlando to offer Maggette mid-level exception.

The Magic are expected to offer Corey Maggette a mid level exception of 5.8 million. He would like to return to the Magic (where he began his career). But he is expected to get a more lucrative offer from another team or be part of a sign-trade with the Clippers.

No and I don't think he'll get that much.

Philly and the Grizz are the only teams who can sign him to that kind of contract and apparently they're not interested.

The only other option is a sign and trade...

I would place him at 6-7 million. He's become the most overrated player this summer. What does he do that so spectacular? He's really done nothing that makes me scream that he's the best player on this market or on his team. He's not an intelligent player, not a good defender. He's good at getting at the line, but because the way he plays he won't be able to sustain it for that much longer.

And I'd love to see the Magic sign him to a contract at 8 million a year (I know it's rumored at 5.6 or whatever) their cap situation will be terrible in about 2 years time. And then I shall laugh because they will be in cap hell, still without a legit PG.

The "Hey, I'm not that much worse than Rashard Lewis... I should be making at least half of his contract!" effect

Guys, he ranked 6th in the league for free throw attempts. 6th. He's one of the most prolific slashers in the game today. Somebody is going to pay big for that. $8-10M is realistic.

No defense, injury-proned..
Why does Orlando want him if they have Rashard Lewis anyway?
If he goes for MLE then I understand but 8-10..

He's a cement head with a very low BBall IQ, who plays absolutely zero D and has never met a shot he didn't like, but hey - let's just look at how many times he gets to the line and hand him the keys to the mansion...

There may be something like this..
Howard
Lewis
Maggette
Turkoglu
Nelson
I've heard about Lewis being a 4 and Turkoglu being a 2 but I don't think this'll work for long since Lewis isn't much of a 4..
Turkoglu may be able to pass as a 2.

Too many players. Only 1 ball. But hey, it would be entertaining.

he should pull in 8 or 9 mil.
definitely doesnt deserve anything more than that... but at the same time, 5-6 is kind of a cheap offer if you ask me.

neither Turkoglu or Lewis played the 2 last year - they interchanged between the 3 and 4. They put Maggette at the 2. How is all of that a problem? I'm not following...
