Kevin Love knows how to win with a bit of respect. There is a really nice dressing room with no camera's in which to dance.

he also knows how to stamp on scola's face. Worst on-court incident of last season.

Whatever. Doesn't change that he wins with respect. There isn't one guy in the NBA that hasn't had a moment where he's whacked another player along the way.

Best quote ever;

"act like you've been there"

Its re-used a lot for a reason. If people don't get why than they need to revisit their motives when playing a sport.

That quote is used for scoring goals and touchdowns, not winning Olympic gold medals.

i've not seen many face stompings! anyway, no biggie, just wanted to register my dislike of him and rejection of his image as whiter than white.

In my opinion its ok to dance and celebrate when you have won Olympic gold medal. Similarly for any meaningfull game (semi finals etc.). What I dont think is appropriate and sportsmanlike is to dance around during a blow-out game with no real meaning (e.g. the group stage games against the worst teams).

each to their own, I can only say how I feel about things. I was taught early in life not to dance around when I'm winning a game. Scoring a goal, etc. If thats Angola winning the Gold Medal in Basketball I might see it differently because of the sheer incredibility of the moment. But he super stacked US mens Basketball team shouldn't be doing nightclub moves on the sidelines at the Olympics. Fact is, they let the NBA players into the league to promote the game globally so thy could make more money with it. Thats it. Any NBAers on that squad should pretty much understand that there is no way any team can beat them, I think they could have toned it down quite a bit.

there's a saying that my dad taught when i was growing up..."there's only one thing worse than a terrible loser - a terrible winner"
correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't this "performed" during the Nigeria game ???...where they were favoured by something like 40 fucking points ???

i can see getting pumped and excited during a very close game (to me that's totally understandable/acceptable)...but when you beat a team 156-73...totally classless

if i've got the wrong game...my apologies

edit - looks like that video was from the Tunisia game ?...point spread 55??..win by 47 ??...and they're acting like this on the sidelines ?...classless

The dancing for joy was when they won the gold medal. The Durant shimmy with the Chandler but slap was against Nigeria.

I have to say that I was really impressed with the U.S. women's team and the class that they showed during their games. I can't remember who they were playing now but they actually had a chance to break a team scoring record but didn't.... they just held the ball and ran out the clock instead. They were also using a lot of the shot clock before running their plays so as not to run up the score too badly.

The men could have learned something from them.

Big deal. Does anyone say anything against Usain Bolt? Before he hit the finish of his races, he was slowing down and playing to the crowd. Then when the race was over he'd do his poses. I continued to hope when he would let up before the races ended and play to the crowd that someone would pass his ass. He's impressive, but still......just run the race will ya.

i will. it's goofy. i get it because bravado does play a role in sprinting. still doesn't make it any less goofy though. i think slowing down at the end of a sprint is totally acceptable as a way to send a message, but the posing and shit lacks class. I think part of the thing that seperates the two is that the US basketball team was hamming it up after beating an automatic opponent (Nigerie or whomever) whereas Bolt pretty much saves the over the top bravado for the final. still for as much as i enjoy track, i could totally do without the posing and planned acts.

Hey Guys, I ain`t saying I hate the US mens team, or that they are horrible human beings. I`m just saying, they need to learn to win with a bit more respect is all.

It`s just how it is.

When you win the NBA championship.... dance your ass off....... but wiping teams with Zero chance of beating you (and no, spain had no chance) well thats just lame to dance around like a fool....getting picked on to that squad meant a free gold medal.

wasn't the durant dance for a sick dunk? rathter than for winning the game? Bball is kind of a street, urban game, it has a tradition of showing off and trash-talk etc.

you definitely need to get the balance right, i'm a very respectful person in my life, certainly a good winner and loser when i play sports. Just think none of it was OTT to be honest.

There was a bit of talk after that nigeria game that USA should've let up on nigeria, stopped trying or something. I genuinely believe that the nigerians would've enjoyed being on the same court as the USA team with them doing all that sick play on them. Good learning experience obv but also just to be out there with these stars, close up watching them play.

in "soccer" in england we have the FA cup where teams can play teams from 3, 4, 5 leagues below them and some time there are big scores in those games, the lower team takes it well and asks to swap shirts after.

I don't have a HUGE problem with the USA smashing inferior teams.... I think that some of us are just rubbed the wrong way when they dance while doing it.
