If he does, then Michael Curry should be shot and BC should get on the phone ASAP to acquire Rip. That would be waste of talent right there to sit on the bench and be used sparingly.
I think Hamilton will sacrifice some minutes to win a championship first.
Stuckey is a natural PG I will be shocked if he doesn't play at least 24 minutes because Dumars is very high on his play. AI will play the point when Stuckey is on the bench. The players will be more rested come playoff time.

Yea that means he'll be in Detroit for 5 years, AI will be in Detroit for this season only.
You should realize that Hamilton would not have received a contract extension without the Pistons trading for Iverson. Iverson's contract finishes this year while Billups contract finishes in 2011-12. This gives Detroit more money for the future, hence they could afford to give Hamilton a contract extension.

Once again ill put this

No championship-minded starting lineup with two undersized shooting guards ever has. (Look no further than Iverson's last team, the Nuggets, for proof of that.) After enough slow starts, Stuckey will ascend to his rightful place as the starting point guard, Iverson will slide over to shooting guard and Hamilton will have to embrace the idea of being a sixth-man-of-the-year candidate.

Getting Hamilton comfortable with that role, in part, may explain why the Pistons just gave him a fat new three-year $34 million extension. The message being: "We know we're asking you to give up something. Just in case you're worried this could reduce your numbers and thereby your bargaining position on your next deal, we'll take care of that right now."

Rip Hamilton is undersized? Since when? Stuckeys a combo guard, how would he fit better beside Iverson? Teams would just zone them to death. Who would play PG? Stuckey? And have him off the ball when Iverson gets it in the halfcourt? Teams would load up and leave Stuckey alone.

Not only is Rip taller than Stuckey hes a much much better player on both sides of the ball. Your reasoning is clouded by your love for Suckey who shot an amazing 38% in the playoffs last year despite avging 10 ppg and everyone going apeshit over him. Rip is one of the best sg's in the league, Stuckey is a 7th man. Starting him over Rip would be one of the dumbest things I've seen in my time watching basketball.

Not exactly INSIDER, but more Rip coming off the bench to back-up AI while Stuckey gets the starting PG spot. Not sure what lead TO2988 to think that Rip (the Pistons best player) was going to come of the bench, but to each their own I guess.

ok.... i see some reasoning behnd that, thanks doc.
reasoning, sure. but its a horrible idea.

force AI to play PG. thats the only hope for detroit.
but if theres anyone who can do it, its Joe Dumars.

Detroit will be fine.

AI should start and have Rip come off the bench if neccessary.
Although I am of the beleif that a backcourt of AI and Rip will be fine.

To the reference that 2 undersized guards starting didnt work for Denver....there is a HUGE difference between Denver and Detroit. Teamwork and defense

Youve been offered tickets to see the 08/09 raps for the first time in person this year vs a top 3 team in the east and you're thinking of not going if AI doesnt play even though its gonna be a great game either way? If the tix are over like 50 then I get it but otherwise GO.
