I stand corrected. Snow did run alot of point.

Iverson has the skills though.

Snow was a more calming influence. He was more of a pure point guard. Still, Iverson is good for 7-8 assists/night. That's better than a lot of guys in the league.

I still don't get this trade from Detroit's stand point at all. I think it's more of a move to take on AI's expiring contract, as opposed to making him a center-piece. It's almost like this is a bit of a "rebuild on the fly" kind of moves, but I think it's going to make Detroit suffer a bit in the short-term. AI dominates a team, and while they'll probably stay afloat, this hinders the development of their young bigs, who will lose shots with this trade.

To me, Denver got a bit better, and may slide up a couple of spots in the West (5th of 6th at best), and Detroit may have actually slid down to 5th or 6th in the East, this move I think, actually helps Toronto out.

PEople said the same thing when AI went to Denver, AI's getting older and knows he needs to involve his team in order to be successful.

Not to mention, Sheed wont stand for AI dominating the ball.

I think it makes perfect sense. Detroit wants to go with Stuckey at some point. Dumars to start a youth movement. AI still keeps them competitive, is a better scorer than Billiups and at the end of the season, he could still re-up at a cheaper price and play with a contender and be a 6th man.

They definitely got themselves a good PG, something they haven't had since Miller. I think the Nuggets did get the better end of the deal. McDyess can still contribute too.

McD won't stay in Denver, Doc.. he's gonna get bought out and he's going to re-join the Pistons.

That's what I was thinking too, but apparently McDyess may ask to be bought out now (and the Nuggets are asking that if he is, that he leaves a LARGE part of his salary on the table). That swings the balance of the deal (in my mind at least) a little bit more back to the balance of things, especially if Antonio heads back to Detroit somehow (waiting period included).

Guys.... I think that some of you are giving AI a bad rap here.... reazlie that he was pretty much BY HIMSELF in Philly so he HAD to score the ball or his team wouldn't win.

That being said... look at when he played on Team USA. He was great (IMO). Scored AND passed with great efficiency. On a team like DET he could do the same.

We'll see.

I like the fact that we won't have to worry about him posting up Jose anymore...

He has a better assist/TO rate than other top scorers like Bron, Melo etc......

People laud a guy like TOny Parker as being a great point guard, but he's averaged 6 assists per game only twice in 7 seasons.
On the other hand, since 04-05, AI has averaged over 7 assists per game + he had to score. I think that's pretty damn good.

It's not like the Pistons are getting a vastly inferior player in return for Billups. They're getting a former MVP and a perennial all-star.

Iverson is better than billups and is gonna kill it in Detroit.

Billups is gonna be real good in Denver, but he needs a team system in order to excell, he's not gonna be as good a player there as he was in Detroit.

AI is far from selfish.

Also, he's the only marquee guy I've ever seen actually look to pass at the All-Star Game.

This is true too. I think that he may surprise alot of people in DET.

All I know is that teams are gonna have to have an O2 tank on the bench after chasing BOTH Rip and him around the court lol..

Also, with Billups gone this increases Jose's chances of being an all-star this season ten-fold.

I don't think, for sure, AI won't play in that game. So now I change my prediction to the Raps winning

He won't play tonight obviously, but I see no reason why he wouldn't be in their line-up for Wednesday night's game.
