I agree about Howard destroying Anthony.

I'm just concerned about their ages.

Yeah I meant it's more than just heating up. It's agreed upon by all parties.

It's just Nash that's a problem, Kobe and Gasol are going to last two seasons. And Nash will have such an easy life that it's very likely he'll last all three seasons.

As a Spurs fan their are 2 things in mind.

Absolutely critical for the Spurs to get that #1 seed again in 2013. Have LA and OK battle it out again in the 2nd round. Assuming the Spurs chemistry pans out which I believe it will, winning a best of 7 is doable against one of them.

Second, I don't have a problem with the trade because after last year's final I realized it would have been more exciting with LA playing instead of OK. They are the team you love to hate and that factor adds value to basketball. They are the team I want to see the Spurs play and beat the most.

It will be a great upcoming season regardless

Even if the Lakers face the Thunder in round 2, the Lakers will still crush SAS no matter where when or how they get there. Duncan and Diaw/Splitter vs Gasol and Howard? That alone kills SAS. Not to mention having a PG thatll make Parker work on D, and Kobe having a lot more space to work with and easier opportunities.

Lets just face it, the Lakers are going to CRUSH next year. No one compares to their roster as of right now. OKC would have to somehow trade for KG, and MIA would need to trade for Bogut to have a chance right now.

Who's stats do you think suffer the most from this move? With all these star players that are going to demand the ball, someones production is going to go down.

My guess is Pau.

Even MORE depth?

Lakers expected to get guard Chris Duhon & forward Earl Clark in Dwight Howard deal, too, source tells Y! Sports. Magic to land 2nd rd picks
Earl Clark could be decent in the right system, but Duhon is good for depth (which is all the Lakers are probably trying to do at the moment)

I still think Miami takes them at full strength and theres still D12's injury issue.
at least Nash and Kobe are at the end of their career. if they were in their prime this would be nasty.

Lakers - Chris Duhon, Earl Clark and Dwight Howard
Denver Nuggets - Andre Iguodala
76ers - Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson
Magic - Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and one protected future first-round pick from each of the three teams.

On a side note, it's a good thing we had that lockout - so that ALL of the teams can be competitive, and not just the big market teams.

Just my 2 cents on this:

Nets, Knicks, 76ers, Celtics, and the Raptors. See the odd one out :/ We have to basically play 4 booked playoff teams. Booked as in 100% sure play off teams. Being in the same division means we have to play each of these teams 4 times!

I mean, it looks like out of these 16 games we might win 4-6 games if we’re lucky. I’m almost certain that we will not get a .500 against this competition. This trade def shut the door on the Raptors playoff hopes, and it is officially now considered a stretch to reach that goal.
Edit: I expect we win like 3-13 against this... maybe I'm just being negative atm... I don't know.

The South east division looks pretty damn WEAK. Miami looks clear for the 1st seed, possibly in the whole league.

Miami goes against the ‘soon to be’ tanking Hawks, the tanking Magic, the 2011-2012 ‘worst team ever’ Bobcats, and the still not playoff ready Wizards(14th spot last year, if you were wondering). Miami will be going against one of the weakest divisions, it doesn’t seem to be too much of a stretch to say that Lebron’s Miami can challenge Jordan’s 95-96 Bulls. It’s not hard to see that MIA can very well go 16-0 against that competition, however Miami is filled with bunch of injury prone players. So I don’t really expect MIA to pass the Bulls, but if they stay healthy all the way through I do believe they can pass the 95-96 bulls.

For Lakers? Steal. They got the sweetest starting 5 out there. It's hard to say which team is better Mia vs LAL. Lakers got the old Nash, old Kobe, older Gasol, old Metta, young howard, however these pieces jell better with one another (similar to the first BOS big three). Mia imo still has the edge since they've got more depth, and Lebron James(The best player). With Wade coming back from surgery, if he's any good as he used to be before last season, then they got two of the best players when these two teams are playing.

Denver, you best give raps one of those forwards. JS. Reunite the Italiano Gallo and Bargs, both can share that Primo Pasta. They got Iggy/affalo, Gallo/Chandler.
Edit: nvm didn't know affalo was gone but still, give us one damn forward.

PS. I understand that the deal hasn’t been finalized, but I’m just predicting what it’ll be like if it does go through.
