What am I missing... why does LA think so poorly about Bynum. He is not their problem, and really far from it.

If you or anyone else thinks that bodies age the same way now that they did 20 years ago you're misinformed. A player who lives healthy and works out properly to maintain peak fitness can play for a LONG time.

38 isn't as old as you think. My roommate is almost 40, he would physically destroy most people on this board at basketball, he is a Personal trainer and has been healthy for years. Its about how you maintain. You will see the age limit get pushed more and more in the next few decades.

That's 4 probable hall of famers. Nash at 38 has less mileage than the vast majority of PG's at that age. Kobe body is an injury riddled mess, and he's probably the highest mileage 34 year old in the history of the NBA, but he's also got one of the strongest wills in the NBA. Oh yeah and he's easily one of the best scorers in the NBA, still. Gasol is still a very solid PF who passes well and can be counted on for at least 18/8/2. If you add Dwight Howard to that mix, they're ridiculously dangerous!

I could totally get your roommate to bite on my pumpfake though! hahaha He'd still probably block my shot but he'd still buy the fake!

I don't think 38 is old, just NBA old. There is a big difference between running up and down a court, 35 minutes a night for nearly 20 years and being an average joe who eats right and stays in shape.

I just don't see them challenging the Heat or Thunder for the title. When you get to the age of Kobe and Nash, your game starts to falter. They have been playing high level basketball for their whole lives. I'm not saying they are going to be useless, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had a down year.

Not to mention Dwight's back. That's a scary injury. I'd feel bad for him, but he's turned into a total asswipe.

As much of a difference as there is between Dwight and Shaq, theres an even bigger difference between Nash and old GP. Theres a good difference between Gasol and Malone too at that point in Malones career. If Dwight gets traded to LA, their big 4 is better and I think compliments eachother much better than 04s

Howard is not Shaq.

During Shaq's run with the Lakers, he averaged 26.9 points, around 12 boards and 3 blocks. I don't ever see Dwight averaging that many points. Especially with Kobe on his team.

Thing is..... none of those players (D12, Kobe, Nash, Gasol) will have to carry as much of a load as they've been forced to in the past. With them all playing on the same squad they can pick & choose who gets off (if they're smart) and save a considerable amount of energy.

They could easily play only 2 of those guys at any one time and still be dangerous as hell.

It's going to take them some time to gel so I wouldn't pick them for a title yet... but within 2-3 years? I'd be shocked if they didn't get one.

I can see them pulling a Heat and go to the finals this year and if they do I think they will take it - no way Kobe will want to lose. 3 of their 6 -all 3 starters- (Kobe/Gasol/MWP) have titles, so they know what it will take. The other 3 (Nash/Jamison/D12) will be starved for one. Time is ticking on 5 of the 6 players - they can't really wait for 2-3 years. I think it's a great move by Cupcake if it happens.

The agent for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard refuted reports that his client has decided he will sign an extension with the Los Angeles Lakers -- if traded to them.

"Dwight's position has remained unchanged since the end of this past season," said Dan Fegan of LaGardere Unlimited. "He fully intends to explore free agency at the end of next season, regardless of what team trades for him, including Brooklyn."

Oh my god! This guy is the biggest joke in the NBA. What a fuckhead and the people around him (agent) need to STFU and get fired!

^^ That isn't news. He won't sign an extension, teams know that. That doesn't mean he won't re-sign with Lakers. He just makes more money if he re-signs rather than extending. Chris Paul is doing the same thing...

I was VERY clear that Howard, according to sources, would re-sign with Lakers after 2012-13 season. Makes no sense to extend he'd lose
That's the guy who said broke the story that Dwight would stay with Lakers long-term

lol stop overreacting. This doesn't mean ANYTHING. He's still a dickhead, but not because he won't extend. It makes no sense for him to do that. He can only extend for 3 years at WAY less money. He can re-sign for the max at 5 years. A difference of 2 years and over $40 million in guaranteed money. Makes no sense for him to extend. Lakers know this.

He's a fuckhead that can't make up his mind. He wanted to be traded at the deadline, then he signed an extension to stay one more year in Orlando. Then he got the coach fired. Then he changed his mind about his extension and wants to be traded again. Now he's rumored to be going to a Championship contender to play with two, possibly three HOF players and he won't commit to them? It's obvious he only wants to play in Brooklyn with his boyfriend.

He's an absolute joke!

He's a dumbass who doesn't make rational decisions. However, you seemed to think him not signing an extension made him an even bigger fuckhead. That's what I was addressing.

Who says he won't commit to Lakers? Report are that HE WOULD commit to Lakers. Again, him not agreeing to extend means absolutely nothing. Why do you think Chris Paul rejected his extension offer? Because if he lets his contract play out (contract year), he will make way more money by re-signing. That's exactly what Dwight would do. I'm sure he'd re-sign, because he gets a longer contract and more guaranteed money. He just can't come out and agree with re-signing to Lakers because it's illegal to do so.

So again, this is not news. It means nothing and changes nothing.
