They're a veteran-laden championship-calibre team. Why would they be worried about a guy like him being a "distraction"?

As long as you have Kobe and Pau in training camp I'd imagine you'd be good, no?

However, if the guy just doesn't come at all, it sucks balls.
It's not like Kobe is going to go to his house and bring him to practice.
More likely, Kobe will go into berserk mode. He had an ultimatum because SHAQ was being lazy DURING SUMMER (although there was much more to it). And here's Odom who's not showing up in camp at all because his feelings were hurt.

It would hang over all preseason camp and possibly until he's traded. Kind of like Artest with Pacers when he asked for a trade and sat at home for months.
If that's where it was going, a trade makes sense.
Lakers just should've gotten more.

Honestly.... that's what I would expect from a team leader though.

It also makes you wonder, because Kobe was VERY complimentary towards Odom after he was dealt. You'd have to think that he would have reached out him.

The Lakers just gave away the best sub in the league... in a year where subs are going to be HUGE for their respective teams because of the shortened season.

I dunno... if it were me I'd have let him sulk for a bit and if things were REALLY bad you could always trade him at the deadline.

I wonder if Kobe will start asking to be dealt again like he was doing before the Gasol deal if they don't get Howard or Paul.

Perfect addition for Dallas. A guy who can play multiple position AND handle the ball.

Going to be tremendous.

This is going to be strange for me. I like Dallas. I root for the Mavs in almost any situation, so long as they are not playing the Raps. But now they have VC! There are going to be times when I'm hoping he plays well!
