Oden, I'm told, will report to Miami on Monday to formally sign his contract. Two-year deal at league minimum with player option in Year 2

Low risk, high reward for Miami. Great get for Miami, and great place for Oden. Here is hoping he can stay healthy finally, great talent but even better person.

His chances of an NBA comeback increased dramatically after he left Portland.

My knee hurts... > Let's do some microfracture surgery on it OK?

... 1 year goes by

My knee hurts... > hmmm, allright, we see the same symptoms as you had in your other knee. We, as official Blazer physicians recommend another microfracture surgery

.... 1 more year goes by

My knee hurts.... > Ok, as NBA award receiving professional training staff guru's, we insist the only help for you, is more microfracture surgery.

.... but didn't we already do that to this knee?

Shut up, you are drunk, we are the doctors, you are just a 1 year Buckeye. See this badge? Says NBA right on it. Listen to us and you will go far in life.

.... Oden didn't play at all for the next season following his 3rd Blazer advised and endorosed microfracture surgery.

There's your 5 year history with Oden and the Portland Trailblazers.
I don't imagine it could get any worse in Miami, and there's a nice warm ocean to chill by if he does end up missing a ton of games recovering from surgery.

maybe lebron's adonis-like physical stature will rub off on oden and his knees will regenerate faster than a derozan airball.

The best team he could've picked to sign with. He'll only need to get rebounds and put backs, his role will be small but can easily contribute more than asked to if healthy. LeBron makes the game easier for players so he was smart to join this situation. Look how valuable they made Chris Anderson look,if Oden applies himself the same way,he'll land himself a nice contract in two years.....if he stays healthy of course.

FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.....

I wanted to him to go to the western conference so that it would be easier to root for him. I thought the Spurs would be an interesting situation, if it turned out he still has some ability. Imagine Oden and Duncan protecting the paint in the 4th.

Also, the Dallas situation seemed interesting because the expectations for that team are so low. If he is healthy enough to play 25 MPG, that would have been a great chance to showcase himself by helping the Mavericks make the playoffs.

But I fear he's just going to hurt himself again anyway, so...
