Default O.J Mayo to NY?

Quote:
In a separate matter, Memphis Grizzles guard O.J. Mayo could be on the move soon, and a source close to his family thinks he could end up with the Knicks.

“They’re gonna move him next week and I think he’s gonna end up in New York,” the source said.

D’Antoni appears to have lost faith in shooting guards Andy Rautins and Kelenna Azubuike. Rautins is completely out of the mix and D’Antoni has said he doesn’t think Azubuike has recovered sufficiently from his knee surgery to contribute.

Still, a second source close to the Knicks said he thought the Mayo acquisition was unlikely.

“I don’t think we’re gonna get him,” the second source said. “We’re playing so good, you really don’t want to mess with it. You don’t want to tinker with it too much.

I never doubt a source close to Mayo's family. But that's just me.

The last paragraph was right. They're doing more than fine right now. Should wait a month or so to see how the Knicks are still doing.

oh please they're 15-9, 4 of their next 5 games are against boston/okc/miami/denver.

one bad week and they're essentially a .500 team. if they can get mayo and improve they'd be stupid not to, the schedule starts to turn on them.

maybe randolph will be grizzlie soon?

Oh God... no please.

Nothing against Mayo but the #1 priority for NY is obtaining Carmelo Anthony. If he's a bargaining chip for Denver, then do it. Otherwise no.

Plus OJ Mayo is good enough to be a starter in this league. Wouldn't fit in NY. Look at Derozan. If Mayo was on the Raptors he would play more minutes than there exists in a single game.

Somehow a Knick fan ripping any team seems inapropriate considering the absolute dog shit they've called a team this past decade.

I just said they should wait a little bit to see how this team is doing in a month or so. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Why rush to trade for Mayo anyways when they are obviously in the running for Carmello? Might aswell wait it out until they are really struggling or if Carmello goes to NJ.

Who wouldn't be interested in OJ Mayo? He's one of the best shooters in the league.

Carmelo doesn't want to go to the Nets.

He's either going to end up on the Knicks or Bulls. That's who he wants to play for. Preferably NY though. Unfortunately Chicago has more trade pieces and a larger cap space. I think NY will get it done though.

Jeff, I never criticized any team. Never said anything about Memphis. Comment about the Raptors was about Derozan... if he plays over 30 minutes at SG imagine how many minutes Mayo would play here. Nothing wrong with that.

Mayo would be amazing with DAntoni. They dont wanna ruin a 15-9 team like Jeff said? Please.

Mayo is one of the better young SGs in the league and has the potential to easily avg 20 ppg with good efficiency. Him and Felton would be a very very very good duo, and not to mention Amare. Then you have Fields, someone you can now rely on, coming off the bench? Easy.

Yeah, then all they'll need is a real Centre.

I'm not sure that I'd move Fields to the bench.... he brings A LOT to the lineup. I'd probably let him play the 3 and move someone else to the 6th man spot TBH.

I'm hoping that this doesn't go through though. Mayo would be a great fit for us.
