Raptors NY's Anthony Randolph moving

Anthony Randolph will apparently be moved by the Kicks for a 1st round pick...which they want to use to sweeten an offer for Carmelo.

I know, earth shattering.

Sources: New York Knicks will soon trade Anhony Randolph for draft pick - ESPN New York

our miami pick? hell i'd give our 1st for him. weak draft anyway, we need a young SF who plays D, can score, athletic, fits with our team!
apparently he is actually requesting to be traded (im guessing it's his lack of PT)

edit: i just took in he's a PF, but he looks like he can play SF?

I want him, but not at the expense of our first rounder.

Maybe our Miami first rounder? lol I highly doubt the knicks would do that trade. It would be great to see him in a raps uniform though. Young, athletic, and can play the 3 and 4.

This stands for an obligatory mix.

Whoever gets him is lucky if only because of his attitude. He obviously backs down to no one. Hunts Kobe down, blocks Mutombo and then gets right up in his face, outwork Yao, dunks on him and mugs at him. LOL!

I wouldn't give our first for him. Like some guys said above I would use the Miami pick and maybe weems or someone.

2M this year, 3M next year, and 4M Qualifying offer the year after.

I also doubt NYK would do that trade for Miami first rounder since its probably going to be one of the last 3 picks of the first round. Not much value for it.

I wouldn't give our first rounder but for Miami's I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I know the Knicks wouldn't. He seems like a good player but a little skinny, I think he can become better if he put some weight on. Would love to have him on our team

+1

Yeah, potential wise, I think that at least a couple of teams will still view Randolph as equivalent to a late lotto pick. Plus, if NYK wants to use the acquired pick to beefup a package for Melo, they need something similar to the picks NJ can offer. NJ is offering picks of much better value than 25+.

I think I'll pass on randolph he has had many chances to prove him self & all that he has done is be very inconsistent, we don't need anymore inconsistent players...

They wanna dump him off on the Blazers, cause we got a pair of mid-level 1st rounders. I know we need players, but I don't think I've seen this guy play in 2 years. And if you've had the terrific liberty of watching a Blazer game this year, it's obvious Portland needs guys that can dribble, and shoot. I know that's a hard combination of skillsets to find in the NBA, or at least I think it is.

We already have two Slender fast PF's in Amir and Davis. I don't see a need in getting him. He can shoot the mid range jumper and occasional three but he's not great at it.

I'm torn. He's young enough, and though not as far along as he was at the same stage, he reminds an awful lot of Lamar Odom. And look how far he's come. Granted he needed Kobe and Jax to get him there. But a guy that size who can handle the ball, and has great timing for a shot blocker is tantalizing.
The part I hesitate over is his lack of playing time on a winning team. And the fact that he's fallen out of favour with two respected coaches. Is it his work ethic behind the scenes?
There's also the fresh start phobia I have with new young players coming in. It's like the first few dates. Lots of energy, and then bam, slows down and we're reminded why he was where he was on his last team. But then, maybe PT and taking licks, and a longer leash on the second youngest team in the league is just what he and we need right now.
Still though, if its our lottery pick this year then I'll take a pass.

The only puzzling part is that two great coaches didn't trust him with minutes. And then theres a case of Julian Wright, not quite working out coming with similar situation. (but its on Triano)

Can you get a better player in the draft past top5 picks? A gamble.
But Randolph is as young as draftees and with substantial NBA experience already. And a short rookie contract.

I say Randolph is worth our pick.
And then make sure that our pick is not in the lottery

This guy can't even find time in NY, let alone last year with the Warriors.... pass. He's a soft PF with potential that won't materialize. Not worth a first rounder. We certainly don't have the minutes for him to develop

He was injured last year with the Warriors and was beginning to showcase some of that potential reaching 12, 7 and 2 in terms of stats.

Hell, he was the big piece coming back in the David Lee sign and trade and hasn't been able to go anywhere because Amare has blocked him.

He's a perfect buy low candidate that you could turn into better assets later on.
