You counted last season. He was traded from DEN last season. The other three years, in the two he won MORE than 50 games, he was matched up against decent teams (UTH and NOH). So that's fine. I was only talking about the years where he was matched up against the top seeds. Those years he didn't win enough games. However, the other year you mentioned (07-08) he was matched up with LAL even though he won 50 games. The West was RIDICULOUSLY tight that season though (even though it's always tight, this year was more so than usual). I think that's the season GS won 50 games but didn't make the playoffs.

EDIT: GS actually won 48 games that year. The first and sixth seed were separated by just TWO games. Very tight race that year.

we should lin a deal that new york knicks have to match, forcing them to spend there money on a guy who got hot for a couple of weeks

after we do that we offer landry fields more money than the knicks can match, geting this would be big time, fits perfectly

going out and offering jeremy lin a big contract would be a huge mistake by bryan colangelo, i don't see how you can offer that type of deal to a guy who only shown it for a month or so

Problem this year and last is NYK didn't even put up a fight. And Melo has just been so bad in the playoffs compared to his normal. His shooting percentage is just really bad the last 2 years and overall. And if he's chucking up 30 shots at 40%... they are doomed.

I was thinking the same. It feels just like yesterday the Knicks finally got out of cap hell.

New York fans dream about having a good defensive club. Most of them talk about the gritty defense they played in the 90s. So far the only thing pushed in New York is offense. The only addition defensively they've added is Chandler. Also, Shrumpert has turned out to be a great defensively but his injury was unfortunate.

I personally think Nash would be a horrible fit for NY. Stoudemire and Melo play horrible defense, and adding Nash would make 3/5 starters a defensive liability at all times.

On offense, the front court will still clog eachother's strong areas on the court, and Melo still would need the ball in his hand to be effective. I don't see how Nash could help if Melo can't defer from isoball.
