Noah wants Melo to come to CHI....

Joakim Noah Pitched the Chicago Bulls to Carmelo Anthony During All-Star Weekend | Bleacher Report

If I'm Melo and I'm really serious about winning rings I take him up on the offer.

PG - Rose
SG - Butler
SF - Melo
PF - Gibson
C - Noah

That's a lineup that could contend with the Heat. Esp. being coached by Thibs.

He'd definitely be leaving some money on the table (might only get $15M/yr or $18M if the Bulls deal Dunleavy) but I think it'd be worth it. The Knicks are going nowhere and the Lakers woudn't have the depth or the coaching to pose a threat.

I hope he does, that'd be the right decision for him in terms of his bball career. Perfect fit.

conference final team for sure

It would be a smart basketball decision by Anthony to join the Bulls, at the same time though it's a huge risk because if Rose gets injured once again that will hurt any chance of them even competing for a championship.

You guys forget that isos kill an offence and that's Melo's game. It would detriment both Rose and Melo's offence, not to mention Melo would clearly be the #2 and who knows if he can handle that. Not saying that they wouldn't be a better team, I just don't think it's really the best fit for Melo. There's only one team that I think could make Melo a championship player and that is the Spurs. That would be absolutely frightful. :jack:

Melo joining the Bulls would be in our interest. His "chuck first ask questions later" mentality would kill the great team work they have now.

PLEASE make it happen!

I can't see Melo being a good fit in Spurs at all. Spurs are all about ball movement and Melo is allergic to it

Lol. The Melo hate. I think he'd make their offense really good. Every year in the playoffs with Rose, on the offensive end, it was basically 'someone has to help rose'. Think Melo had the same issue at Ny. After Smith shat the bed.
Even with Rose out.. I'd still think they'd dominate. Melo going to a tough defensive team makes things scary. It shines his amazing scoring... hrs not Rudy gay. He's not an avg scorer. You kinda want him to score instead of anyone. He's pretty much league history good at scoring.
Imagine if Rudy in our team scored at about 10% fg higher, then like 10 more points. We'd be near Heat level right now. Imagine the best defensive coach and team with that scoring machine.
And Rose would be 2nd option. He's not mvp Rose anymore.

I agree. I've never liked Melo but I can acknowledge that this would be a great move for him. And Coach Thibs wouldn't take any shit from him. It would be play the right way or GTFO.

Melo gets so much hate for no reason. He is one of the best pure scorers the game has seen who has played on average teams and taken them to play-offs every year of his career, except this season. He is surrounded by guys with little talent offensively or little brain and hart. On the Bulls he'd be a perfect fit and kick some serious ass, Rose or not. As Raptors fan, I'd hate to see him on the Bulls but as a basketball fun, it sounds awesome!

Melo gets hate because of his "Get me out of small town Denver! I'm a star! I belong in the big apple!" crap.

Actually, he was lauded for being up front about not wanting to sign an extension with Denver and allowing them to get something back for him, instead of just walking at the end of the season. You know, unlike a certain someone else from his draft class did. *cough* Bosh *cough*

Good point. Still a miracle that MU got anything back for him since the Knicks knew he only wanted to go to them and they could have gotten him for nothing at the end of the season.

Oh wait. The Knicks. Right. Sorry.

I put money on him staying

lankganglia 03-07-2014 12:54 PM

Some people say that we were able to get something via S&T :cookie:

Fair enough (our own pick back that we had already traded to them, Miami's pick and the much vaunted trade exception), but nowhere near the bounty that Denver got back. They're still reaping the benefits of that trade.
