Nets Nets now looking to add Ilyasova

The Nets are still pursuing Bucks power forward Ersan Ilyasova, sources tell Y! Milwaukee has pushed to re-sign him.
How the hell is that even possible?

BTW we should change the Nets logo on this site

Because they have birds rights on Hump, which enables them to sign him above the cap. To obtain Ilya, they would likely send Hump back to the Bucks. If Ilya refuses to re-sign with Milwaukee, the Bucks might agree to the trade because at least they get something. Hump is a pretty solid rebounder and can contribute a bit on offense. He's a good role player when he doesn't chuck. The Bucks might take him if the contract is reasonable.

All these moves the Nets are doing are occuring without using cap space, and that's why they are able to operate above the cap and keep the MLE to sign that Teletovic guy.

I heard that Teletovic guy is dope, so he might start ahead of Ilya. Either way, this would add some depth to the roster.

Either way, they would have 3 decent bench players, with Marshon, Evans and one of Ilya or Teletovic.

It's a roster that could finish 3rd in the conference and possibly challenge for 2nd if the Bulls don't respond well to starting the season without Rose.

But this is just a back-up plan in case they don't get Dwight.

this is how you insulate brook lopez who is a very bad rebounder, bring in illyasova and wallace to help with gang rebounding

It still kills me when anyone says that Lopez is a "very bad rebounder"

His first two seasons he averaged 8.6rpg, 8.1rpg. Last year he was injured the whole season.

Bargnani (7'0, 255lbs)- VERY BAD REBOUNDER (4.9RPG career)

Lopez (7'0, 260lbs)- SLIGHTLY BELOW AVERAGE REBOUNDER (7.6RPG career)

I've posted this a couple times, it's dependent on D12...if they can't get him then they can use Hump in that direction instead. Though now with Teletovic and Evans I can't imagine the Nets overly stressed about getting Ily - though it would be one helluva cap to the off season

This makes no sense. The Nets have no money to spend, and they just signed a guy who plays a lot like Ersan.

there different players, brook is on the post mostly where Bargs is on the perimeter either way there both bad rebounders

if Bargs acted like most bigs he would probably get 7 rebs a game but the fact is andrea gets some of his rebounds jacked from teammates, and he is not aggressive enough when the ball is up
