Nets Nets Drop Rafer Alston and Seek Kris Humphries

YAHOO: Discussions for a trade that would’ve exchanged Eduardo Najera(notes) for Kris Humphries(notes) and Shawne Williams(notes) are “on life support,” a league source said, because the New jersey Nets have been unable to clear a roster spot to make it happen.

After that story, Nets dropped Rafer Alston.

Is Humphries any good, I know he was on the Raptors for a few years.

Didn't Alston play good this year. They shoulda tried to trade him no? Anyways Kris is a good energy guy. He can hustle for ya but sometimes he thinks he is MJ and keeps on jacking up shots

Alston was playing really good this year in the absence of Harris. I don't understand this at all.

Either do what the bulls did when they got Rose, trade him for some other good value, or move him up to the 2 because i think he's more of a scorer than a point guard.

First and foremost, answer the guys question. Yes, Humphries is a good player. He's big, strong, fast and he's young. Durable as hell.

He has had issues with understanding his role. If he can mature and get those behind him, he can be a 7-8 rotation kind of guy that can step in and start seamlessly for your team if needed.

This league is getting a little nutty. But maybe it's becoming less of a player's league and that might not be a bad thing.

Alston has been traded from the Nets to the Heat, according to Mark Stein of ESPN.

Recommendation: The Nets will receive Chris Quinn, cash and a 2012 second-round pick. Miami will get a heavily protected 2010 second-round pick from New Jersey.

Humphries would work out well with the jersey Shore types.

Hump is only good for junk time on a team that's going anywhere. He could help the worst team in the league though..

The Nets tried to acquire guard Nate Robinson from the Knicks recently, according to sources.

New jersey offered Rafer Alston and Tony Battie for Robinson and Darko Milicic, but New York wasn't interested.
