Heat NBC Miami: D-Wade unlikely to re-sign with the Heat

Quote:
Wade’s already put his Miami house up for sale. He’s said he wants to play with Orlando’s Dwight Howard. He wants to play with LeBron James, possibly in New York. Basically, Wade hasn't stopped talking about next year and the possibilities outside of Miami.

Wade wants to win now. The current Heat roster has a better shot at missing the playoffs, which is understandably frustrating to our resident super hero.

But Riley has already said he doesn’t plan on making any splashes during the season to make Wade happy and Wade is becoming increasingly grumpier as the losses pile up.

He’s started taking shots at his young coach, despite his efforts to backtrack. Speaking of effort, Wade’s has been visibly lackluster on the court. Meanwhile, his personal and business troubles off the court have made more headlines.

Suddenly, the sand of South Beach isn’t looking so pristine.
Quote:
The NBA's trade deadline is Feb. 18 and for the Heat it will mark the point of no return with Wade.

It is a very distinct possibility that Wade will not be resigning with the Heat as a free agent at the end of the year. He’s given just about every indication that he will probably be headed elsewhere.

They're 26-27 and are only 1 game up on 9thy place Milwaukee so i can see him being pissed. At the same time they have a more favourable schedule then we do if i'm not mistaken the rest of the way, so i still think they'll end up with 43-45 wins.

Hypothetically speaking, suppose Wade was for "rent." That is, the Raps could trade for him, but he'd likely bolt in the summer. I wonder what Rap fans would be willing to give up just to have Wade for this postseason? Because if it's a matter of renting Wade, other teams would not make offers as good as they'd make to acquire Wade via a sign and trade during the offseason. It would take far less to acquire Wade now, and there'd be less competition.

Hmm...how much is too much to rent a player?

It depends on how you assess the schedules. If you look at if from strictly from the perspective of opponents' win %, then Toronto has the easiest schedule in the East and Miami is a close second. However, there is more to it than just opponents' win %. As I'm sure you can imagine, back to backs and playing on the road make games more difficult. Also, sometimes you run into a hot team. Like last night, Philly was on a 5 game win streak and playing better than their record indicates. They had some fight in them. So, when you take everything into account, it's a little more difficult to say for certain who has the easiest sched. Both of them have fairly favourable scheds, though. Lots of games that the Raps are capable of winning.

If he's smart he'll choose Orlando if possible. West-Baylor didn't work, neither will Wade-James. Those two need to be teamed up with Dwight/Bosh/P. Gasol types.

This was the horrible shot he took at the coach.

We also have to find a way to mix it up -- stop being a team everyone knows exactly what we're going to do,'' Wade said. ``You have to be a person willing to do it. I'm not sure Coach wants us to do that. You have to have confidence guys are going to make the change on the go

Hmmm..... I wonder if we offered something along the lines of Jose + Amir + DD what the chances would be of us snatching him?

Wade is the only guy I know who will stick with their team. I've watched interviews over the summer about his contract extensions, and he said he wants nothing more to win a championship in Miami. Leaving is the last thing on his mind, he didnt want to sign the extension because he wanted to put the onus on the management. He's staying.

Problem is wade + boozer doesnt = championship. Boozer already plays with williams.... unless miami signs another accomplished free agent then were talking dynasty

Probably zero. I'm gonna guess they are looking at it the same way Toronto is with Bosh, their best bet is to try and keep him in the off-season, then go the sign and trade route if he really wants to leave. At the same time Bosh hasn't sold his house here either (does he even have a house here?).

I wouldn't want that deal from Toronto's standpoint anyway. Giving up two solid young prospects and a starting PG for a rental player isn't great anyways. We'd have to win a championship this year for it to be worth it, I doubt 30 games is enough time for him to gel into the roster. Should Wade commit to resigning here that'd be another story.

Wade - Boozer - Beasley

some relatively cheap old vets: Camby, Jason Williams, Brad Miller, might as well give a Shaq a call lol and a couple of role playing defenders. Amir? Antoine? (probably tons of those in free agency..)

and two first round rookies.

could be worse. not a dynasty necessarily but much better than what they have now

Of course I would assume that this would be the case..... and it wouldn't be out of the question either. Wade could have a VERY good time playing with Bosh and Bargs and Hedo. And Toronto ain't exactly a shabby city (and Wade likes nightlife).

You're right though... they'll probably wait til the offseason.

he lives in one of the luxurious condos downtown. this was a fact when he came late to one of their shoot-arounds before the game cause' he got stuck in the building's elevator.

Its all speculation of a pipe dream...

Wade would fit in easily as our new starting sg

But what about Wade's endorsements with T-mobile? If he came to Toronto it would endanger his contract since there's no T-mobile here and he could join up with Rogers
