Default NBA Ticket Prices Falling

The same in all leagues. The good markets will do well, the bad markets, well, they're suffering.

NBA ticket prices have fallen for the second straight season.

The sports business outlet Team Marketing Report said Wednesday the average price of a non-premium seat dropped 2.5 per cent to $48. That followed a 2.8 per cent decrease last season.

The Los Angeles Lakers have the highest average at $95 following a 2.1 per cent rise. The NBA champions are followed by New York at $89, Boston at $69 and Chicago at $64.

Toronto sits seventh at $51 a decrease of 2.6 per cent.

Memphis is last at $23 after a 3.9 per cent drop, and Washington is at $25 after a 9.9 per cent decrease.

Detroit dropped prices 10 per cent to $43.

how the NBA let the grizzlies move from Vancouver to Memphis is an absolute travesty.

hmmmmmm, whats going on after this season a lockout

this seems like positioning instead of truth, isn't expensive to sit upper deck but closer in, and the tickets up front go for at least 1000, so how does that work????

they also forgot to mention beer and food prices that they make a killing on

this is just what Billionaires do, clinch to every penny,

ya i don't get either

i'm a little surprised that team hasn't moved here yet,

I understand trying to make money at 64 cents on the dollar but now its dollar for dollar, not to mention concessions stayed the same price very expensive, you would think because the dollar is better the certian costs would go down namely food, what we pay for drinks here, you go to the states you can pick up a 60 pounder of Vodka for nothing it s a joke

the Vancouver market is a Cash Cow now, its strong

this city has become beast since the Grizz left, house prices doubling and some places tripple, downtown looks legit, surrounding cities population increasing at 5 or 6 percent rate yearly this all in 30 KM range Surrey,Langley, Richmond etc

another thing that we didn't have is local sports tv, your telling me that Rogers Sportsnet Pacific wouldn't buy up all the rights for a T.V contract, Raptors have one of the more lucrative local tv contracts, you would think Vancouver would be at least in the middle of the pack, Sports Radio is big down hear now, before the stations were just geting off the ground when the Grizz left, now there stable and doing well, Team 1040, 1410, so the Radio rights would be bought up at a reasonable price

also another variable with T.V contracts, the number of sports channels, The Score could use a second team with TSN,TSN2,SP1, and your local Sportsnet show the rest of hte Raptor games, I'm sure 4 channels can split upt he games with Sportsnet Pacific and the Score geting hte rest, also in the long growing Basketball in Canada this would be great, it would be around the clock every day NBA on canadian T.V

Olympics was a massive success viewed around the world, don't know how this fits in with the basketball team but it does,

every tiem there is a nba game here in pre-season its sold out

also the population of the city would help, when the Grizz were here most of hte NBA fans were in high school didn't have the money for it, I'm sure that alone would fill 3000 or 4000 seats, considering basketball is more popular amongst the youth in the city which has come of age and now has spending power, now some of these fans are flying to NBA cities to watch games or driving to Portland

I understand why they thought it would work, but the NBA made a massive mistake of not being patient and leting the fanbase grow,

if the Canuck Owners step up and get one that would be a perfect scenario, MLSE style, they own the building so I would think you have to go to them first before anybody, there have been whispers Portland and the Pacers, but that seemed more like threats from those teams for there own gain and benefit however that might help

the Canada line that was built during hte Olympics, goes from richmond down the heart of Vancouver into downtown, that helps things if people don't want to drive to games, on that side of town, I can see how this would help people if they want to go to the games,

I could list another 10 reasons
