Lakers (11.9M)
Celtics (10.4M)
Nuggets (6.3M)

it actually makes me happy to see this. raps management has managed to get quite a bit while staying under the tax threshold. i wouldn't want to be any of those teams besides the Lakers (and maybe the Celtics).

hey, most of those teams are also competing for championships.

Yay for the MLSE, they don't spend money, they save and make a MASSIVE profit.

Whatever, fuck them, they go over the cap with an extra guy and you have a top notch 2-3 guard to add to this team.....

Don't be fooled.

who there is really competing for a championship this year sj? playoff appearances, yes, but I only see 2 teams that have a very good shot at a championship, and two others that have an outside shot.

my point was only that we have a good team while staying under. sure it would be nice to have another guy, i don't dispute that, but considering that we are under we have a pretty good core group of guys. especially when you consider $20 mil coming off the books in 2 years from one salary.

Knicks (27M) - no
Mavericks (23.9M) - no
Cavs (19.2M) - maybe
Lakers (11.9M) - yes
Celtics (10.4M) - yes
Nuggets (6.3M) - no
Suns (5.6M) - no
Rockets (2.3M) - maybe
Heat (439K) - no

20 million comes off then what?

That player is also gone.

trane, the heat are only 439K, take um off. The Knicks area n anual anomaly take them off. The Nuggets are a bad experiment gone wrong and were built to fill seats in an empty arena with star names.

That leaves quality teams that are over so they can, even if remotely, compete for the championship. Topronto will be competing for a place in the play offs, and even that isn't a shoe in.

ya wanna win, you gotta spend. San Antonio is impressive, but they also hit lightning with a few guys, but I'll admit, thats how ya bulid a winner.

All I'm saying is that for years people here have been railing the team and coach when lets be honest, they have never had the horses to get it done, and still don't. This is a carbon copy of the Leafs, to a 'T'. Just enough to keep a flock of sheep interested, not enough to win, but with at least one or two big names (and the necessary washed out old star) to sell jerseys and keep the sheep hopeful.

Being in business o make money is fine, but when you're making tonnes, and don't invest in the product, eff you. There's the MLSE for ya.
