Devin Harris. Trevor Ariza deserves a nod too but he was injured last year so its complicated to consider him.

Its either Harris or Granger. Both exploded this year into top level scorers and main options for their teams.

Others that have really improved from last to this:

Rondo, Bargs, Barea, Wafer, Foye, R Butler(comeback anyway), Chandler, J Green, J Nelson(would have been in the running for sure if not for injury),Young(another to consider)

Bargnani deservs it TONNES more than any of them.

He deserves it because of all the useless and unwarrented SHIT that was tossed his way here, and south of the border last year.

Gurk mastering the art of sarcasm. Maybe something good did come out of this season.

Everyone knew Granger would be the best player on Indiana. Devin Harris was traded straight up for a hall-of-famer. He is supposed to be this good. Both these guys just got more opportunity to be scorers, and they took advantage of it, but I wouldn't say their success was a surprise...it was expected. They were given that opportunity because they were already damn good. These guys are aiming for the second and third team all NBA, the most improved award should be below them.

Guys like Barea, Ariza, Marks, nothing was expected of them. But they took their games to a whole new level, and probably extended their careers a good 3, 4 season by separating themselves from all the other scrubs in the NBA by showing they can compete with the best night in, night out.

I know Sean Marks isn't going to win it. I just love the fact that he plays some serious minutes for NO now. He's a completely different player, and far better than I ever thought he would be. I remember watching New Zealand play 4 years ago, and he was hardly seeing the floor because he continually got outplayed by their other bigs who never got a sniff at the NBA, like this guy, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pero_Cameron

That's how I see it at least.

But former winners include McGrady, Turkoglu, and JO, so obviously people see the reward differently than I do.

I just preferred when it went to guys like Ike Austin, and Gheorge Muresan.

It's a dumb ass award meant to proclaim one of the next superstar's arrival onto the scene. I could do without it. I agree that giving it to the guys that don't get all the expectations to start with would be much better.

devin harris will get it most likely because he's more popular and well known for his improvement
i think danny granger improved but he was pretty good last year already and didn't make as big an improvement as devin harris
bargnani probably deserves it the most if you compared him last year to this year, but he won't get it because nobody really knows him and the raptors

Why has Sean Marks been mentioned twice in this thread? This isnt the 'guys hanging by a thread because a team is really banged up and needs bodies' thread.

Harris will get it, but Bargs deserves it. Harris had this game last year, he was just on a leash... NJ let's him do whatever he wants and gives him the bigger role now.

Bargs on the other hand was a grade A Adam Morrison level piece of crap last year and turned it into borderline All-Star level if he'd done this the whole year.

It's going to be Danny Granger or Devin Harris. Lock it, book it, laminate it, whatever.
