Quote:
NEED TO KNOW
It's a rematch of the 2006 NBA final, won by Miami in six games. ... They had nearly identical regular-season records: Heat 58-24, Mavs 57-25. ... Miami has won each playoff series in five games. Dallas took six games to beat Portland, swept the Lakers and took Oklahoma City out in five. ... First final appearance for head coaches Erik Spoelstra of Miami and Rick Carlisle of Dallas. ... It's a chance for more Canadians to grab championship rings, with Joel Anthony and Jamaal Magloire ready to play for the Heat.

KEY MATCHUPS
LeBron James vs. Shawn Marion

James has been virtually unstoppable throughout the playoffs, averaging 26 points per game and anchoring an excellent defence. Marion won't be able to stop James by himself, but the ex-Raptor is a quick, aggressive defender.

Chris Bosh vs. Dirk Nowitzki

The Dallas power forward has been the best offensive player throughout the post-season, carrying the Mavs in close games. Bosh has had an excellent post-season as well and if he can make Nowitzki work on defence, it might limit the Dallas star's offensive game.

FOR DALLAS TO WIN
Not only will Nowitzki have to continue his ascendant play but if subs Jason Terry and Peja Stojakovic dominate the Heat with their outside shooting, that's a huge boost. ... Small, quick guard J.J. Barea has been excellent, and if he can get in the paint and create havoc, it helps. ... Centre Tyson Chandler should be able to operate freely on offence against the smaller Anthony. ... If Jason Kidd keeps knocking down open threes, it creates even more room for Nowitzki.

FOR MIAMI TO WIN
James and Bosh have been excellent offensively, but Dwyane Wade struggled at times in the conference final against Chicago and he'll have to find his game. ... The Heat aren't a particularly good three-point shooting team so they'll likely see a lot of zone defence from the Mavs. ... Mike Bibby or Mario Chalmers will have to give them some offence from the point guard spot. ... Udonis Haslem will have to use his strength when defending Nowitzki.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN
Heat in seven

hoping someone tallies up the number of times Wade and James get a non-call this series
i'm hoping for a Mavs win ...just because i think they are the better "team"

bottom line is i could care less and will watch very little of the final

They earned it by having Eddie House score 35 points on the Raptors.

The last game of the season, and the Raps get slaughtered by the Miami bench. I think ticket holders were angry that Lebron and Wade didn't even play.

This pre-game parade of factoids is rough. They should have given us another half-hour of Ricardo the busboy.

Although I am wondering if that pop-a-shot game is fixed.

What? They couldn't find a flag to fill the whole court? The NCAA tourney had one that filled the whole court. It made me aware that a flag and a basketball court share the same dimensions.

Mike MacDonald on the anthem? Nice to see he's made it another year. Oh wait - those high notes make me a little less thankful.

An ad break between the Away and Home starting lineup announcements? That just sucked all the energy out of this thing. I feel like just going to bed now.

Wade looks like garbage already lol not good for the heat, as they will need all 3 to step it up.

Meanwhile Anthony is starting the block party haha.

Dallas needs to bring in the bench. The starting unit is really struggling out there.
