Nash giving Knicks opportunity to work out a S&T w/PHX?

Steve Nash is allowing the Knicks time to create a sign-and-trade deal that would be acceptable to the Suns while also getting him a higher salary, according to a source.

Landry Fields was one player Phoenix was known to have interest in, but he agreed to a $20 million, three-year offer sheet with the Raptors on Tuesday that takes him out of the running.

Toronto has a three-year, $36 million offer on the table to Nash.

Well he clearly isn't interested in Toronto. Something is smelly here

jeffb 07-03-2012 09:46 PM

I think we lit a fire under the wrong people today with the Fields move. Nash will not be a Raptor! I'm guessing they know this by now.

Superjudge 07-03-2012 09:47 PM

Well depending upon the validity of ANY of th reports were getting.... but fuck.

neojiphre 07-03-2012 09:50 PM

But there is so much to like. He can be what Gretzky was in LA! That has to be irresistible. The dude just spent two years fighting as hard as ever and getting dragged into the muck with a below-avg team around him. Wow- he can now sign up for three more with players that were not assembled to fit with his style as they at least were in PHO. Why does anyone think that would be something he would immediately lunge at?

Nites 07-03-2012 09:57 PM

At this point it seems that Nash is clearly more interested on going NYC.

The wrong people yes, if you mean Steve Nash. I'd be pretty pissed if I were in his shoes. Dumb.

jeffb 07-03-2012 09:58 PM

When you look at Nash not wanting to come here, last summer with the whole Barnes debacle, and the summer before that with the MJ Jose to Charlotte trade Bullshit....gotta just.....:o

I hope he made it clear to BC, otherwise it would be a dick move on his part. We could have went after a guy like batum and from the reports we could have had lowry.

Oh there's been a long trail of garbage since BC enjoyed success in year one. But don't pay too much heed.

What is there to make clear? The whole process is not about limiting your options and ending up being forced into a situation you aren't thrilled with because you felt you needed to burn bridges halfway through the whole thing.

Look folks, BC knows how the process works. He knew what he was getting into. He knew the risks. Pease let's not let him off the hook again and blame the player for doing what they have every right to do.

Yeah mentioned something like this in another thread too, being a Raps fan is so hard

Superjudge 07-03-2012 10:08 PM

if you cant blame the player you cant blame the GM. If its a game like you say.

But if it's business, and you lead a potential business partner to believe you plan to do business, just to drive the market, trust me, it isn't considered good business practice, and it's very frowned upon.

and THAT is an area I DO have experience in. If you aren't interested, don't say you are.

Dark Knight 07-03-2012 10:11 PM

"according to a source."

Are we really going to let these 4 devilish words convince us that Nash no longer wants to be a Raptor? C'mon people, just because he hasn't decided yet doesn't mean he's doing so to give the Knicks more time. It means he's still deciding.

Superjudge 07-03-2012 10:12 PM

I tweeted a mean tweet at Nash. this is all too entertaining

At this point i blame the player. IMO Nash has strung us along and if he wants to be a Knick he should have told us by now. This whole approach from him smells like a massive pile of cow shit. I've honestly lost a lot of respect for Nash in the last 24hrs......a lot.

No longer?

Show me anything in the last 72hrs that shows he wanted to be a Raptor at all?

Dark Knight 07-03-2012 10:14 PM

It's all over the Internet, Jeffrey.
