Default Nash getting divorced

I guess the kid's not his? LINK

Quote:
PHOENIX -- Steve Nash has announced that he and wife Alejandra are in the process of a divorce.

The Phoenix Suns' point guard and two-time NBA most valuable player revealed the situation in a statement Saturday, a day after the birth of the couple's son, Matteo.

He said in the statement to Life & Style Magazine that he and his wife have lived separately for several months but remain firmly committed to raising their children "in the most positive, nurturing way possible."

The couple, together for nine years and married since 2005, also has 6-year-old twin daughters, Lola and Bella.

"I want only good things for Ale going forward," Nash said. "I'm focused on ensuring that our children understand how much they're adored and loved by us as they continue to adjust to these changes. I would ask that their privacy, and ours as a family, be respected as we move forward. This will be my only statement on this."

The Suns announced Matteo Nash's birth in a news release Friday, but the crews doing the radio and television broadcasts of Friday night's game against Sacramento were under orders not to mention it.

The 36-year-old Nash had 28 points and 14 assists in the Suns' 103-89 victory over the Kings, then left the locker room before reporters were allowed in afterward.

It seems to me that this might improve the chances of him playing in Toronto before his career is over.

Yeah - it's one more step in the right direction I guess. Although it doesn't make NYC look less desirable.

Is there a rule that you can't get divorce if your wife is pregnant at the time? If so could of been waiting to get a divorce for months now but had to wait till the kid was finally born.

No rule, it was just wierd that he announced the birth of his son and 2 days later he announces his divorce. Just saying.

Are you sure? My uncle is in the situation right now. He wanted to get a divorce with his ex-wife but he messed up and now she is pregnant and he can't get the divorce until the baby is born at least that is what I was told. Maybe its just in the states or depends where you live. I am not sure I just learned about it recently. You can file for divorce but they won't finalize it till after the baby is born. Maybe that is what happen with Nash?

But yeah if not that is weird to get a divorce after the kid was just born.

He named the child with his last name, which you can't do while knowing the child is not yours. They've been living a part for a while. I'm guessing he didn't want to drag attention while him and his ex wife were focusing on a healthy and safe delivery.

Too bad. So much divorce. I like Nash, so I hope it's as amicable as he's making it seem.

there is definitely no rule... or law. It's just kind of a shitty thing to go through so it's sort of seen as a faux-pas to bring up with a pregnant woman. Two days after does seem soon, but I guess at that point... anytime is good enough.

If she is maybe there will be nothing holding him back from playing in Toronto

Why all the Toronto talk, has he talked about possibly coming here in the past?

I'd love if Nash was a Rap, but I never thought it was an actual possibility.

Too bad, but relationships are like cartons of milk, they all have an expiry date.

This happened since the world cup, Nash must have cheered for a wrong team!

Are there any reports over property division? I remember Shaq's wife took like 30 million or something like that out of the settlement. Also, Jordans wife got 168 million and Jordans 7 acre mansion in Chicago plus the kids lol.

"A year after their marriage in Las Vegas in 1989, he signed a prenuptial agreement that entitled her to half his fortune, but she has claimed only a third."

ye i read somewhere that they've been seperated for awhile now.
But damn, must be rough for him--amare gone, trade talks, most likely a 7 or 8 playoff spot if they do qualify.
Hopefully he gets traded to a contender

Suns will make the playoff. Any team ran by Nash is a playoff team 9 times of 10!
