Default Mullin Wants No Part Of Garden

This week seems to be poke and make fun of the Knicks week.

Even Chris Mullin doesn't want anything to do with the franchise.

With the sexual-harassment suit officially settled yesterday, Thomas could be as vulnerable as ever come spring if the Knicks are out of the playoff hunt and franchise center Eddy Curry continues his regression.

The Post reported that, in a postgame meeting Saturday night, owner James Dolan told Thomas his job is not in jeopardy.

During his five-day visit to New York that week, Mullin told multiple confidants about the informal conversation with a Knick intermediary.

According to two sources who spoke to Mullin, he likes his image in New York the way it is and would be afraid an unsuccessful run as GM would "destroy" it.

cause we know the current NY GM's image is perfectly in tact, yeah?

Jeez. Here's the most basic solution to NY's problem.
Fire thomas immediately.
Put someone (ANYONE) in charge with an interim title.
Promote a hungry good young assistant (i'm sure any assistant who wants to get a break as a head coach would take the job)
Shit, Hire BABCOCK, because he could seriously improve the team the way things are now.

The problem is that Isiah ruined that franchise beyond belief. It's gonna take some time to fix it. It's not going to be an overnight job. It's going to take a good 3-4 years (like things won't get better until maybe the 2010-11 season - they have too many horrible contracts - they'll have to hope some of those fat fuckers opt out of when their player options rear themselves). In the meantime, they just can't acquire pieces and hope they fit. They need to build around players who will play for the good of the team, not for themselves. They need to suck for a few years and acquire some good pieces in the draft.
