Monta Ellis has agreed to a deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

Ellis will make as much as $30 million over three seasons and at least $25 million.

Ellis opted out of the final season of his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks at $11 million.

Great contract - Terrible player.

This might be the most depressing regular season to watch since I've been a Mavs fan.

Calderon and Monta Ellis...........................................

He's not terrible, Monta Ellis is a Blazer killer. I hate that guy. I swear he's like 16-2 against Portland.

Ellis is an offensive stud.... his defense is bad, but at least he can take over a game on one end, which is a nice luxury to have at SG.

This is the craziest offseason in recent memory. Just about all of the MLE and up guys signed with new teams! Every franchise has a new makeup. I love it!!!! I'm especially happy at teams making dumb moves (Bucks, Mavs, Knicks, Pistons) and happy for the teams making shrewd moves (Golden State, Clippers, Nets, Rockets, etc.). Top it all off with the Lakers losing their prime free agent... Is it too soon to call this the greatest offseason ever?

I'm extremely pissed off by the moves the Nets and Cavs have made...

Yet that looks much better than our lineup.

Agreed, although they're old and play in the West. In the east that's a playoff team, in the west I highly doubt it.

About the same starting 5, but we are much younger and could/should get better.

NOH signed Morrow, Brand is still a FA, and Dallas still has no starting center nor much depth at all.

Ellis would be such a great 6th man if he ever accepted that role. The other role he'd be very good in is if he was a starting PG next to an all around stud SG, but that's hard to find nowadays. He's not an effective player at starting SG next to anyone really.

Waste of money for Dallas, especially after getting Jose. They clearly have no direction right now.
