Miami Heat interested in Dalembert

I am sure he would choose Miami over more money on a losing team.

Heat interested in Dalembert to strengthen center position - NBA - Sporting News

BTW, what is whit Miami Heat going after Canadian C's??? Anthony, Magloire and now Sam.

jeffb 06-14-2011 06:09 PM

They'll go after every good Center under the sun this summer. lol

As they should.

That big Anthony guy really laid an egg in the Finals

Scrub

A decent backup i suppose, a siv on offense but can grab some boards and at least gives effort.

I really hope Toronto makes a play for him.

He's good, he's mobile, put up very decent numbers in sactown this year (8 pts, 8 rebs, 1.5 blks in 24 minutes).

He can get more money here and play in Canada.

That and we would pretty much take Miami's only chance at a decent C away.

I would imagine Chandler will stay in big D. :(

INSIDER 06-14-2011 06:24 PM

why would they go after a center when they have anthony????
maybe TOrap should have a talk with their head honchos and tell them how amazing he is.

Better yet give Leo Rautins a job on their coaching staff and get him the fuck out of T.O. ;)

Then, make way for Dalembert. lol

jj33 06-14-2011 08:10 PM

Man, just imagine Leo interviewing Dalambert at half time...

thought 06-14-2011 08:13 PM

i want dalembert as much as i want to blow-torch my nipples. no thanks. not worth the cap space on a rebuilding team. miami can have him. and then proceed to wish they didn't.

komot 06-15-2011 02:33 AM

joel anthony possess the same skill set as sammy D, why would they want another copy.
i think they should be looking more to getting a coach as he drew up terrible sets and had the wrong players on the court closing out games. should of been wade/lebron/haslem/chalmers/james jones or miller. you should only have 1 guy that can not shoot the 3 so wade can iso 1v1 better while making any potential DT's pay.

Windex 06-15-2011 05:57 AM

get Marcus Camby if he's still around. get him a ring.

js12 06-15-2011 09:25 PM

Why all the hate for Sam Dalembert?

He can rebound and defend at the center position, is that not what we need?

thought 06-15-2011 09:26 PM

he's not really a great defender. lazy and gets pushed around. hardly a dominant rebounder.

Yeah that's what he is on a losing team... but he has the physical attributes and athletic abilities to turn it up if need be, such as if in a playoff run. Put him on a winning team, and have a coach hold him accountable, he'd be a hell of alot better than many.

Some can't, some choose not to.... but if given the right situation, I'll take the ones that have previously shown they can..... Sammy D is that type.

Yep, you guys are right... never mind the regular season... never mind the first 3 rounds of the playoffs.... let's judge Anthony ONLY by how he played in the Finals.

Brilliant.

His lateral quicks and energy already make him a valuable commodity as a defensive big. Add in the shotblocking and you have a very good piece... arguably better than Dalembert.

Having both would be ideal though TBH.

I agree.... having both in Miami's frontcourt would allow them to move Bosh for a PG too. Anthony is ideal for Miami cause he doesn't need any touches. Sammy might want a few, but he'd fit nice in that frontcourt with Joel.

Lol... you were wrong then... and you're still wrong now.

Was Kendrick Perkins a "scrub" when he played for the Celts? Because he pretty much did all the same things that Anthony did for the Heat.
